The site is currently down though and so is the shopto iPhone app.

it was a few days ago that it crashed for me, so i came back today to sort it and it went down again as i was trying to sign in and looking through the contact pages....

... Sigh.:(

I tried to sign up with them 3 weeks ago, it kept telling me to choose my country and delivery destination ... there were no such options available so I couldn't even sign up. Tried this morning, site is down. I think I'll just go with Amazon, at least I have built up a trust with them over the years of pre-ordering books, dvds and recently blu-rays, so I know they can deliver on time.

@deuse: You got me ! I was actually depressed up until I opened the link. Damn you ! :D

HAHAHAHAHA, Amazon deliver on time? Certainly not for PC games. Have never received a game in time for release day from Amazon. GAME are usually quite good. More often than not get it on the Wednesday before Friday release. Shopto I usually get them Monday/Tuesday before :p - haven't ordered from them for a while though.

both play and amazon have slipped in recent years with delivery dates, im not sure who to blame, royal fail or the shops.

I almost always use Game.co.uk for pre-orders simply because 9 times out of 10 the game will show up on or before the release date.

The problem is they don't take into account shipping time.

GAME - allow for shipping time. Because of where I live, I get mail sooner. So it arrives a day or two before they expect it to (always quicker to have their free shipping as they allow more time for it to arrive).
Shopto - ship as soon as they get the game (they aren't supposed to, but somehow get away with it).
Play + Amazon - don't seem to allow for shipping time for some reason??? At least in my experience with them. Even to this day I still hear nightmare stories about them. The most recent being with Starcraft 2.

Whilst this game certainly looks the bee's knees so far, I am going to hold off pre-ordering until I get some unbiased reviews back from this game. I just don't trust games developers anymore. This isn't a dig at Codemasters, more developers in general.

Shopto back online. :) + the iPhone app.

o.O My pre-order has disappeared. :( Goes to investigate.

*Edit.Aha it wasn't showing on the iPhone app, though is there on my account on the website.
I just rang them and asked if the price had been confirmed and was told it has gone down 14p to £19.79 now. :)

Yeah I paid for mine in advance , even though you don't need to with shopto pre-orders. Thought in some way it may guarantee the £19 price. :p
Anyway phoned them again (UK Call centre b.t.w.) and asked how I would be refunded the small difference as the price had dropped. Was told when the game is despatched any difference will be credited to my account.
Very happy so far.

While I'm pretty sure it will be decent I have to agree, I'm not in any rush.

For those who have wheels or are thinking about buying one then have a look at this from the official forums ....

I am quite eager to play this and am likely to buy it on release day. Not sure if i will buy on steam or just pick it up from game on the way home (i literally walk past the place. It will probably depend on when steam lets me start downloading, if i can set it to download when i leave for work that will win.

codemasters are the poop at making racing games. I trust them to make a decent racer more than any other developer.
