Just had a good race in shanghai :). Qualified 12th (in lotus, first season) and finished 11th. Last few laps i was close to taking 10th from Barrichello but i did a slow penultimate lap so ruined my chances :(.

Drove a consistent race for the most part and gained a place overall so was happy :)

I still notice some AI rubber banding though which seriously needs to be taken out of this game.

I'm going to try turning tyre simulation off to try and see if that makes a difference.

I am also able to do very well at the start of the race. Going from 24th to 12th by the end of a few laps. Then I pit, and lose all my places, the grip on the primes is pretty bad sadly :( Also, pitting is just messed up right now.

Turning tyre and fuel simulation off makes the game too easy imo. You can easily win as you can set super fast laps on options until the last lap and finish miles ahead of legendary AI.

I just wish the patch would come and fix the pit bug, then any racing you do with both the sims on for proper positions in mid field wont be lost as soon as you pit (25s pit stop.... :/)

You must put in serious amount of racing sim hours to be complaining like that.

I got to play about 2 hours all in (first serious racing game) and I'm still coming in around 15th (best) to 22nd (usual) with all assists except braking.

Does anyone know if this has subtitles in press conferences and with the engineers talk? Only thing stopping me from buying now.

I've done a fair bit. I used to play Live For Speed A LOT back when I had my G25, among others. I just like racing games :)

Once you get used to F1 2010 it's not so bad, people that find it hard probably just haven't gotten used to it yet. I race with an Xbox pad and all the assists off and it just takes a gentle touch and time to learn the tracks properly. The races I've done so far in career mode I've spent more time using the free practices than I have actually racing. Makes a lot of difference.

Still can't manage to get to grips with Time Trial mode though. For some reason every time I'm beating my personal best (1:53 on Bahrain) I end up making a stupid mistake later in the lap. I know for a fact I can get down to 1:51 with my personal best sector times but can't string the lap together :(

Just did a race at Valencia. Cracking circuit, managed a time of 1:38.

Are you able to totally destroy your car in this, haven't witnessed it yet. I mean break wheels off n stuff, properly DNF yourself.

Sorry buddy, no subtitles. The press questions are on screen to read but that's it. You don't really need the engineer anyway as there is an on screen display of your car, so you can see if you need new tyres or if you've damaged the car. You can tell the engineer you want to pit by pressing Y on the controller so you don't need to wait for him to tell you to pit. The engineer isn't really that useful anyway, he gives you pointless information about your team mates lap times ... which you can see when you enter the garage after a run.

I hope that helps a little.

*snigger*

Was doing some random hot lapping on Monaco and had so much fun :D A part from the penalties carrying over to the next lap if your in the 3rd sector :( Surely they could have maybe done it if you hit a wall on the last 2-3 corners?

Might have to try Valencia, never raced on that circuit :)

I have this problem, too. I can get a decent margin over my PB quite easily most of the time (there's always room for improvement), but I more often than not end up invalidating the lap somehow, and over the most frustrating things as well.

I could easily get myself towards the pointy end of the leaderboards on every track (save for Monoco - I can't even match the times set in real life yet) if I could string my sectors together properly.

Yes its possible. But very difficult. Only managed it once, in an Online race and it wasn't my fault.

I got pushed across the tarmac, across the grass and into the wall about about 130mph. Instant DNF. Front right wheel came off.

He went on to finish the race.:mad::mad:

Helped a lot. Cheers. Ok, will be getting this tomorrow. :)
