thanks guys....

strange neither the manuals or the controller options mentions it hehe

drat just froze on my in career mode :(

I love Monaco. A little tip to get round a bit easier for those struggling, change your custom setup and crank up the front and rear wing to about 9 each, then you'll see improved turn in, grip and control as you go round, especially on the option tire. You'll lose some speed, but that's not a big deal, there are ways to compensate for that too though, or just dial it down as far as you can whilst still getting fast controlled laps in. Monaco is all about getting the right rhythm for the track. Once you've got it, you'll know instinctively where the barriers are and you can push even more!

Where did you read this Morster?

Changing the settings worked for me and got my frame rates to work when in full screen mode whereas before I was getting no performance out of my 5970, unless I ran it in windowed mode.q

The actual settings are a little earlier in this thread, probably about page 98 or so. Can't remember the exact settings but involved switching off a number of the default settings in CCC.

Ok, I have managed to fix the issues I have had whereby I got better framerates in windowed mode than full screen. In the 3D tab of Catalyst, I changed everything to use application settings, disabled Catalyst AI, unchecked enable adaptive AA, checked the triple buffering, minimap detail level to performance and wait for vertical refresh on unless application specifies.

I have no idea how changing all that affects running the game but I can now run it in fullscreen on max with more than playable frames.

I am surprised that something like that can affect a game so much. I never even noticed that tab before. What is anybody elses settings in there? I use a 4870x2.

Glad to be of service! ;):)

I am currently about to start the race at Valencia to which is my first time at the track, when i started FP1 i was about 3 secs slower a lap but in qual i managed to get it close to 3 tenths with an uber lap right the end of Q3 to put me 3rd on the grid.

anyone find an issue with going driving in real life after playing this with a wheel and pedals?

I've been playing all week with my G25 and got in my real car today for the first time since getting the game.....my breaking and accelerating was pretty damn erratic. Ended up slamming down on the breaks when I reached a traffic light. No doubt looked ridiculous. Took a while to get used to the fact that I wasn't driving an F1 car (just a word of warning).

Oh well, back to the game....

Just started a career race in grid position 24, made my way up to 14th before anyone pitted.

After going past lots of AI cars in the pits before me I made my way up to 7th,

then I go into the pit as 7th and come out as 19th.

Losing patience with game.

I was hoping not to turn all those settings off, but I think I will just try disabling AI. If that work then great! :)
Will let you know. Cheers physichull et al.

By the way, I noticed if I press 2,3 or 4 I get a menu with tyre and wing settings, how do you make choices exactly? The menu system doesnt have any number on it and furthermore, how do you know what existing aero wing settings your car is at?

On legend? Your asking a bit much of yourself aren't ya?
I don't think so. Initially I have no problem keeping up with the AI and overtaking them up to around 14th position. It is after the pit stop when I'm lapping slower on the less grippy tires which is fine, but the AI are lapping at the same fast pace even after they've pitted. The tyre rules state that you have to use a set of option and prime tyres during the race, and seeing that they don't pit again, I don't see how they can be running on the slower tyres and be lapping at the same fast pace.

I'm going to try turning tyre simulation off to try and see if that makes a difference.

I am also able to do very well at the start of the race. Going from 24th to 12th by the end of a few laps. Then I pit, and lose all my places, the grip on the primes is pretty bad sadly :( Also, pitting is just messed up right now.
