Beginning to hate this game. How do you turn driver aids off?

The invalidated next lap because of an error on your current lap is so annoying, can't believe I haven't smashed my controller yet - who thought that would be a popular feature?

It's their attempt to try and stop people cutting to gain more start/finish line speed and getting a better lap time.

Still haven't gotten on top of people cheating however so the top TT times are still stupid. Makes the really harsh limits pointless imo....

I managed to get a puncture IN THE GARAGE earlier. Chose prime tyres and heard the puncture sound, drove out and there we go, a punctured tyre.... absolutely ridiculous

ive yet to get a puncture..... seems odd ;)

Not sure pop up 3d displays that project driving lines on the road are allowed in F1.

hmm but you said you was the driving god and only need 3 laps to perfect your racing lines.... something massa cant even do in a whole weekend sometimes.

He didnt say anything about perfecting the track, you do get an idea of where all the corners are going, braking points and gears in the first 3 laps, definitely. If you have ever driven the track in another simulator it's even less than that.

I must be a little dumb then. Because 3 laps, equates to roughly 5 minutes. There is absolutely no way in hell that I can drive quickly on a track I have only driven on for 5 minutes. Driving in a proper simulator will make no difference.

Sometimes it takes me 30-60 minutes to learn the direction of where the next corner will be turning and roughly where to brake. Sometimes it takes me even longer.

I think there are some people playing this game with great memories. I only wish I had their powers of memory.

Everyone takes differing times, personally it's more like 10 minutes for me to start 'pushing' (eg setting decent-ish lap times but still improving my knowledge of the track at the same time)

It also becomes easier with practice, I started playing racing games (with the original GT) in 1998 apparantly (when it was released), and sim racing since 2003, so for me I've learnt so many new tracks in that time that it becomes quite a trivial task, one lap to get the 'left/right next' bit down, then another lap or two to get the gears roughly right (these generally have a habit of changing as you get quicker, obviously), then the next few laps are just kinda trying to be smooth, and use the line/gears gathered in the first couple to set some lap times and try to pinpoint corners that I feel can be taken much quicker.

Once that bit's done then it's the pushing bit, basically I just feel that I can take a corner quicker/different line/gear and I try that out and see how it goes, mostly just experimentation. This would also be the bit I would play with setup if at all, I don't bother in F1 2010 though.

3 laps to learn kinda works for me on tracks that ive done in other games, but almost ALL tracks have changed since i last played a F1 game (2003), so its taking a lot longer to pick it up :(
