Installed the mod and I still managed to use my current season save.... dunno how.

But it seems to have broken the team order and now Torro Rosso are top 6 and Mclaren are 8th of below.... WTF?!

Uesd the 2011 soft tyre option and I think that might be the problem but the uninstall won't work :(

After applying the patch my game no longer saves.
Finished race at Montreal, then closed down steam, when I restarted steam and F1 2010, I was back at Montreal again.
I have read about a save game fix, has anyone used it ? does it work ? and how do you install it ?
Thanks.

Triad starting a new career ?

I bought this game in the Steam sale and have to say it's one of the most frustrating games I've played, and I've barely played it.

I had to sign up to an online account just to save progress and then update the game, involving loading/downloading/installing screens and restarting the game. I had to endure pointless cutscene crap just to submit my name and nationality. More loading screens. Then listen to some bint go on about what's in my portacabin. More loading screens. Then half an hour of "playing" later I get to actually race a car and find that the controls are way too sensitive and the settings were already set up to be the least sensitive. More loading screen and then quit.

/rant over

So any way of improving the controls or do I have to just get used to it? I was playing with a gamepad, any chance keys are better? (don't want to buy a wheel).

Any other beginner tips worth knowing?

To get the most out of this game it really needs to be played with a wheel. It's horribly twitchy with a pad but very enjoyable with the progressive inputs of a wheel and pedals . . . transformed the game for me.

Using the Xbox joypad should be absolutely fine as long as you don't just whack the analogue stick from side to side at every corner. Be smooth with it around wide corners and quick on tight ones. If you really did want better control then I'm afraid a wheel would be needed but like I said the Xbox joypad should be fine.

Thanks for the tips. I'll have access to an Xbox soon and was planning to get into Forza. Maybe buying a wheel would be a good idea. Are there any recommendations as far as brands or particular models to look for/avoid? Is £50 a reasonable budget?

the best value for money wheel is the logitech dfgt which is around the £70-80 i think. You may be able to pick it up cheaper 2nd hand but this only works on pc and ps3- really is worth the money though!

Havent played this for months now, did they make any improvements to the AI in the patches?

Just like in the old days of GP4, they stopped making patches after just 2 or 3 updates, and have left us with a buggy game thats a little bit rubbish if im honest. The Last good F1 game was waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy back with Gp3, back in the days when games didnt need patches because they worked straight out of the box :(

Bleh, sounds like its just the same then with the ramming ai and dodgy pit crew

Still might give the total conversion mod a few posts up a try. Might reignite my interest in the game if its 2011 liverys and drivers.
