Nice, so they release a buggy game, fix a handful of bugs whilst introducing a few more, then that's it for support.

Guess this is the first and last Codemasters F1 game I'll buy then, shame the franchise couldn't have gone to a developer who is at least half way decent, take GT5, released just as buggy as F1 2010 really and 5 patches within a month...

well i just got this as a Xmas pressy for myself to use on my G25 wheel.

Thankgod i didnt waste £30 on it and only wasted £20 thru the steam sale. What a load of @:{}!

My PC (XP) wont log into live, so i have to go through all the intro for a quick race. Not only did i have to sign up to windows live but it took me over an hour to try and get it working. In the end i have given up on it and started a quick game to find its like a kids arcade game. With all the helps turned off its horrible to play how can they make a modern game feel so old and removed from any feel of realism.

I give this 2/10. With the graphics on ultra im not impressed with it and to make it worse they cant even get the "shakey replay cam to make it look realistic" correct!

If you like arcade games fine, if you like sims and have played the likes of the GTR series then STAY WELL AWAY!

Xmas rant over. :)

I would not advise anybody to play this game using a keyboard...unless they were doing this as part of some form of sadistic punishment.

why not? ot has loads of driving aids with them on and a keyboard you pretty much just hold the throttle down and guide the car...

im serious btw

It's very good loads of new liveries and a very cool start to the game. You need to start a new game though
It has the Kers\DRS on the screen but we can't use them :( the races are harder to win(which is a good thing)

If you play online I would read the thread first. So far so good ;)

Ok, got it installed and ... LOVING IT!

The AI are faster - At least I thought so - and the cockpit camera is fantastic. It's the realistic cockpit cam mod which just adds so much to the game. All the cars look sweet, even the menus are fully revamped as well as the drivers and the intro movie along with a nice Prodigy theme song :D. Only problem for me is that the helmets don't work.

I didn't choose any of the 2011 tire simulations during install but I might go back and add them at a later time. I just don't won't to ruin my time trial mode.

Overall I say if you have vanilla 2010 then you need to get the mod NAOW!.

Anyone tried any of the other mods?

Specifically the high resolution textures and ultra realistic weather / lighting?

Anyone had problems getting the 2011 mod to work? Installed on my steam version of the game but once I get past the Intro video nothing works.

The helmets don't work for me but everything else seems fine.

Had this for xbox a while ago and was wondering how is it now with patches and mods etc?

Also does it work well with a 360 controller?

The game uses the Ego engine so it works perfectly with a 360 controller. The game is essentially the same with the mods only making it look nicer and more up to date. The cam mods add movement to the drivers head in cockpit view and weather mods changing the way water looks or the angle of the sun on the tracks.
