retail is a huge loss for €uro gamers.

I agree that the £/€ debate is a concern although I was talking specifically about the UK market, the £/€ debate is a discussion for another day completely :)

its been a long time since stores charged the RRP on pc games, even a lot of xbox games dont cost the rrp anymore

I am aware.

I was refering to the fact that up untill now, Codemasters published their digital games at their FULL RRP on launch, despite the fact that even the retail sector was not charging full RRP.

In which case, they have lowered their pricing structure which is surely a step in the right direction. If this is at the cost of of retail which after launch is not worth that much anyway, so be it.

Question, I know the weather can change in races, like spa etc. Can you select weather to remain static? As in a wet race start to finish, and if so, can you select, let's say, bahrain to being a wet race too :D:D?

A little insight from a dev:

When we first started designing the F1 2010’s weather system, we quite quickly came to the conclusion that the only way to handle the system was to make the weather patterns at each track true to its real life counterpart in terms of how often a specific weather type was seen.

One of the first things we did was to source weather data for each location around the world and extrapolate specifics such as the maximum temperature, average rainfall, even the humidity levels. This threw up some interesting facts which we hadn’t really perceived before. Everyone has an idea of what weather type is specific to a track, but that’s not always correct. For example, if you think of Australia you think of hot sunny weather where as in reality it quite often rains at Australia; admittedly the rain isn’t always heavy but it does rain a lot!

Once this data was gathered and we plugged it into the weather system it quickly became apparent that our data was producing more occurrences of rain than was realistic. To fix this, we determined that we would need to gradually reduce the chance of seeing light or heavy rain, whilst sensibly increasing the chance of seeing clear, cloudy or overcast weather. This allowed us to tweak the system slowly over time until we were left with something which is quite realistic whilst still being capable of throwing the odd curveball in here and there.

On average, the system throws out around 5 or 6 wet races per season, however, as the system is dynamic its still possible that it could rain at every race. There are of course tracks where rain is more likely to occur, and the reverse of that, tracks where rain is unlikely to be seen at all. Malaysia and Spa are probably our wettest tracks, whilst some of the European tracks, such as Britain and Germany have an average chance of rainfall. In the reverse you’ll be unlikely to see rain in most of the Middle Eastern countries, although even at some of these there’s a slight chance of seeing light rain for a short period of time.

Add yourself>>>****The OcUK Steam Names List****<<<Add yourself

Having gone through a bit of a trial period (during which everything seemed to work quite smoothly) I can now finally present the (mostly) working Steam Names List wherein you will find a list of people who use the steam platform for online gaming and (eventually) the games which they play.

For the moment the games which people can associate their name with are:

Left 4 Dead
Left 4 Dead 2
Team Fortress 2
Counter Strike: Source
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Now with added Bad Company 2 name column)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty: World at War
Borderlands
Killing Floor
Worms Reloaded

Of course, there can be more games added over time, just mention which ones you feel are appropriate and I'll update the list.

There are some basic instructions after the jump but nothing too complicated. Let me know if you have any problems and I'll try and fix them as soon as I can.

Once you've added yourself be sure to add a few people from the list to your own friends list :)

This list is merely an amendment to others work so thanks is due to FrenchTart (the poster formerly known as Aekeron) and Z0mb1e for laying the groundwork.

I hope you'll find this useful,
Antar.

Add yourself>>>!!!SHINEY NEW GFWL OcUK LIST!!!<<<Add yourself

Whether it will be useful or not now is another matter but it only took a few minutes to knock up and can't do any harm.

Games currently on the list:

Bioshock 2
Dawn of War 2
Grand Theft Auto IV
Dirt 2
F1 2010

I've moved Dirt 2 onto the GFWL list as it really belongs there instead but don't fear, if you've added your name to the other list I've amended your details to the GFWL list.

Any other games which you feel need adding to the list just give me a shout and I'll sort it out.

Note: I've noticed a few issues opening up the googledocs in Opera since the latest Opera update but they work perfectly fine in IE8, Firefox and Chrome.

Add your names :)

Had another try at Grid in anticipation of this. That game still annoys me. its like you are driving on a sheet of ice and the slightest wiggle throws you off. Hope F1 2010 isn't like this, ridiculously hard. Loved Dirt2 though.

Thought Grid was pretty forgiving using a 360 pad. Almost too much grip on corners.....

Make sure in GRID you've got stability control ON. It's the wrong way round in GRID. Turn it off and you've got MUCH less grip. Impossible to compete online with it off.

That could explain it actually. I'll give it a try but I am just finding it almost impossible to win anything except the touring cars.

well i but the bullet and pre ordered it off steam. I know its more expensive but I may be moving back to Oz next year and less stuff to move the better. Speaking of which i think this game retails for around $85 -$90 back home which is around £54 in todays conversion!! So I always think I'm lucky to pick up a new game this cheap :P

I had the same thing. The worst for me was the Le Mans 24h in single player. First thing I did when I got the game was turn all the assists off, but even on the second difficulty setting cars on the final section of the track would come barrelling past me whilst I slowed to take the corner.

Turning it back on (leaving the rest off) made the game have a lot more front end and I could finally put the difficulty up and have fun racing without being frustrated that I was running wide whilst the AI cars sped round corners at higher speeds.
