apparently my copy has turned up !! half day booked - check !!!

wonder how this will run on a c2d @ 2.67Ghz and an 8800GTX ? !! we'll soon find out ...

Just got my retail dvd rom pre-order. Game is a serious letdown already :(

1: Loading times are very poor indeed even on a SSD + 980X + GTX480 it took me nearly 10 mins just to get my first ride in a car

2: Gfx are really poor & dated. Only the stunning rain graphics & car models are hi-def the rest is bland/low rez/console junk

3: Codemasters have once again produced another long winded menu system which seems even worse than the Dirt2 version (is that even possible ).

Glad it only cost me £19.85 as its not a decent effort at all tries to be a mix of hardcore sim & arcade combined :( not a pick up & play game at all) you even get penalties ingame like the real thing for cutting corners on the easiest career mode. AI is tough as well.

Oh well maybe it will improve with time but no DLC planned as they are already working on F1 2011 so you can bet patches will be limited. They need if nothing else to reduce the amount of time you spend not driving as all the menus & media driver stuff is very poorly implemented & you cannot skip any of it either

Trying to find a good MP game. Managed to connect to one session and was shunted off in the first corner. Manager to drag car back up to 3rd in a 3 lap race after though, even with wing damage :D

Add me to friends if you're not a dick racer ;)

I'm in no way saying you are wrong at all because the loading times are pretty long but if you went straight into career then it loads and there are no more major loading screens until after the race, so practise, qualifying and the race are covered by one loading screen.

Wouldn't be surprised if this becomes the next game graphics card bundled game at some point, given CMs track record with doing that sort of thing in the past.

takes me 20minutes to get through those screens though.

game is unplayable

I know but even then it takes me ages to get there its just loading like forever. Very poor for such a high profile release the loading times should be instant considering the poor graphics & small install size. Trying it on my other PC now to see if its any different on a Samsung 1TB with 32Mb cache.

1. 10 minutes??? Takes me no longer than 2 and it is not even on my SSD! Plus the whole weekend is covered by just ONE loading screen, so no biggie anyway.

2. Would kind of agree. Does look awesome in the rain though. Also depends where you race - some tracks look better than others e.g. Bahrain is incredibly plain in real life too.

3. The Menu system is nowhere near as long winded as Dirt 2. I really like it.

I'm averaging about 50fps with my 5770 Crossfire.

Rather annoyed that I can't tweak the controls for my Xbox pad though

think a lot of issues are driver or cpu related . i start up straight in race no lag no nothing. too me its grid with f1 cars.

Heavy rain... noob on front row... no assists = BEST start I've seen in F1 ever :D

Guy just put his foot down, got about an inch forwards then spun... was pretty damn funny
