***Official Formula One 2011 Thread***

Great write up there HBK, very useful. Thanks.

After a few rounds in my first season, I still get the impression that the game is only half complete. Certainly its much better than F1 2010 but still doesn't feel right. I've been impressed by the car dynamics and handling but the AI is again a real let down for me. Their racing lines are terrible, I'm sure others must have noticed that they seem to bob on and off the racing line whenever they feel like it! Another disappointment is the penalty system...it's totally ****! Seems even worse than F1 2010. AI still break far to early in slow corners, quali times still don't seem to reflect track conditions and as for fuel and tire wear affecting AI...I'm not convinced they do.

I'm a little disappointed overall with the fact that Codemasters still haven't addressed these issues...most of which should have been addressed in F1 2010 or even a patch for it. Glad I got it at £17.99 on pre-order price as if I'd payed full retail for it I'd be a little annoyed at myself for again getting a poor product from Codemasters. Having said that it is a step in the right direction and feels more complete but not quite what it should or could have been. I do hope we get a proper patch for the PC this time around and not in F1 2012!

Patch 1 has been in submission with Microsoft for a week now, so with any luck we might get it by next Friday. Patch 2 is currently being worked on and Codies are using their forum to collate all significant issues found by the community.

Well said Sir. I could not agree more.

Has anyone found any news about what's in this first patch?? Surley CM would want to release notes to say what they had fixed? I dont think they will have sorted any of the issues we have talked about, but it would be nice to know what they have "fixed"

PS3 patch came out almost immediately upon release and there's still been no changelog. I presume they are waiting until patch 1 is out on all consoles to release the changes.

Anyone else had problems with the replays?

Have moved this onto my SSD - was getting stupidly long loading times, probably linked to all my crossfire and gpu issues.

Edit - reduced my load times slightly, but not by much :(, must be related to something else?

You can't I'm afraid. There's a big thread about it on Codies forums requesting it be fixed in the patches. Dev posted in the thread and said it's been noted. Probably won't happen until patch 2, if at all.

Its absolutley rubbish! They build a nice Saftey car feature and i cant use it in co-op because if one of us goes of the track we turn into ghosts so cant cause any problems

Starting to get the hang of this game without traction control or the racing line now (I'll still switch it on for the corners whilst learning a track, mind). Maybe I'll be ready in time for the league starting. :p

Is there something wrong with the Custom GP browser or is the game just dead online? Whenever I search even with different filters I get very few returns, rarely is any session more than half full and is most likely racing already . . . at Melbourne

Sprint mode is more active no doubt but very little racing goes on there.

Forgot to thank the guys who I had a game from here last weekend, It was a pleasure to race with you all, really need to put some time into this game haven't had chance to have a race since I had a game with you all last.

Are you guys on tonight ?

Ok this is getting a bit annoying.
I have all assists turned off.
Tried to have a go on Melbourne and everytime I go round a corner in 1st or second, applying a bit of throttle will see me spinning off wildly. Is there anyway to sort this out? Played with the sensitivity settings in game but they just seem to delay the throttle rather than varying it linearly the more I depress the pedal.... frustrating!

Hmmm, discouraging to see the same bugs from other games existing in 2011.

Examples:

Completed R&D objective, went straight to qualifying, marked the R&D objective as incomplete.
Completed first qualifying session and after displaying the scoreboard controls no longer responded, so couldn't progress.
Controls are not being saved for my G27 wheel. Come on "Codemasters", you still haven't fixed this exact same issue with Dirt 3!

/sigh.

i'm up for it if we have a few people, getting to be a pain in races with any more than 5 cars online.

Constant first corner carnage...

You guys on tonight? The heat killed my will to play at the weekend, and there's that stupid 50 rank bug.

Be nice if we could get bigger races going. We usually have 5-7, we need at least 10 :D
