I'm interested in getting these, but many years ago I was never very good with driving games.
What's the cheapest but usable forced feedback steering wheel/pedals with flappy paddles?
Does anyone fancy getting a little community together for some regular races?
I'm getting fed up of playing MP for it to turn into a game of bumper karts at the first corner and would like to race with some people who know how to drive.
I'm a big F1 fan (pretty much from birth) but just started playing this yesterday.
I really love the experience of driving a lap when you properly hook one up. Unfortunately as a noob that rarely happens.
I've got most of the aids off or semi-off but I'm using full auto gears and medium traction control. Spent an hour pounding round Silverstone last night re-learning the track. It's nails isn't it! I swear F1 2010 wasn't as unforgiving. Pirelli's eh? After an hour of increasingly faster laps on time trial I realised I hadn't once used Kers or DRS and promptly called it quits for a night.
So much for me being the next [insert driver preference]!
I have just reinstalled this game and have a problem where it only starts in windows mode. I have tried editing the config file to full screen = true and have tried alt+enter and neither works. I didn't have this problem before so I am a bit baffled. Any ideas please?
Thanks
I seem to have fixed it sort of. I had a hdmi cable plugged running to my TV in as well as the dvi to my monitor. Unplugging the dvi lets me do the alt+enter thing.
Think the general opinion on this was meh. Average F1 game let down by poor AI. Bit buggy in places. But Overall if you like F1 and havent played the other worth a fiver I guess.
If its anything like the others I wouldn't bother. Unless you have a few friends to play with I wouldn't waste my money on this trash. Theres lots of much better Arcade racers out there.
Trackmania would be a much better option. (Better physics also)
I wouldn't get F1 to play multiplayer unless you get involved in a regularly run series e.g. http://www.reddit.com/r/VirtualWDCPC or running a co-op season with someone.
The standard of driving is so dire that nobody really bothers with public lobbies on PC because you get a couple people like me running with wheels at the front just basically hotlapping for 3 laps and then some people crashing into everyone and everything on keyboards. Running 3 lap races on a game like this is pointless anyway as it kills half the experience of DRS, tyre management/strategy etc.
