try giving the ram an extra 0.1v

Well I'll give it a go but whenever I go above +.3v vdimm, the "DDR18V" option in the bios's pc health section shows "fail".
This is a bug apparently so it might be nothing more than an indication prob.
I'll try +4v vdimm anyway and see how it goes.

Don't think it's a bug as such, as you say I think it just indicates that the DIMM voltage is incorrect, high or low.

Thankfully, no problems so far with this board - straight in at 400fsb, 2.8ghz (E6300)@1.35v, 24hrs Orthos stable. Only other voltage adjustment was +.3v for the ram.

Don't know if it's just me but my PC doesn't really feel any faster, despite the sub-20sec 1mb super-pi times etc.

You just can't please some people.

:D

I take it your on the f4 bios. My ram is at +0.4 at the moment and i haven't had any problems

Is the "CPU Smart Fan Control" feature the same as asus's qfan technology?
meaning does the motherboard adjust the fan speed according the the cpu/mobo temps.

.. and how many fans can it support, thanx

Hmm been ripping my hair out for about 2 weeks trying to oc this bugger!!

AND finally it would appear that I have achieved a reasonable oc for a 1st timer :p

Was struggling to get past 315fsb then decided that the gently gently approach of increasing fsb by 5 just wasnt working and went straight for 350....

\o/ 2.45 Ghz and no more ram errors in sp2004 orthos.

Now I need a better hsf and a 40mm fan for the northbridge to push it further.

RAM 5-5-5-15 2.1v
Vcore 1.375v
FSB +1v
GMCH +1v
PCI-E 100

Under load highest temp 57c recorded from speedfan

Yep they are all the same basically. I think it only supports the CPU fan header?

well it looks like most peps are getting there
pieman109 pleased your getting somewhere now did send you an email about the ram slots did you get it ?

Hallelula, I've found the prob. One duff memory stick! It won't run at the following settings:

Vdimm 2.1v
800mhz (DDR400)
4-4-4-12

It'll only run at 5-6-6-12, well below it's rated timings, and NO higher than stock speed, 800mhz.

The other stick will do 4-4-4-12 @ 800mhz, 2.1v and prime all day at those settings at 350mhz.
With both sticks together, I can get 5-5-5-12, but NO overclock at all.

Time for an rma methinks.

Has anyone tried the F5 BIOS? The main problem I seem to be having at the moment is sometimes I get no signal to my monitor when turning the PC on. The F5 BIOS apparently has better graphic card compatibility so I might try it.

HI all

Anyone having problems on this board with DVD and Hard drives running NOT in DMA modes,

"I am" :-( anyone have any info on this, its driving me mad.

kind regards

Just done some testing and got 2.8ghz (400 x 7) stock volts on all settings straight away with the good ram stick with timings of 4-4-4-12 @ 800mhz, at 2.1v Vdimm.
The bad stick won't even load windows and bluescreens a lot too at that setting.
So....the memorys going on rma over the weekend, luckily I've got some value DDR2 to use temporarily while its gone.

Updating the BIOS solved that for most people that had that problem.

Yeh i udated the bios from F4 to F5 and still no luck,

But..

I changed the IDE controller in the Bios from “IDE” to “RAID/IDE” and that gave my optical pioneer 111d drive DMA mode 5, and my hard drive is at DMA mode 4, is this ok? Or should it be like this with the IDE controller set to “IDE”
