Official Gigabyte DS3 Owners Thread

Ok mine crapped out at 3GHZ on stock volts.Well im not going to complain about that.3DMark01 35000,03 16,000,05 12000,06 6312.

Waste of money in my opinion as all i do all day is play BF2 and CSS.

OK it runs faster but dont improve the gaming 1 bit.

Previous rig was a Opty [email protected] x1900XT 512MB.

I can see why people upgrading from sktA would benefit here hugely but to be honest i just wasted £500 :o

Hi all.

wondering if this is a big problem basicly when i boot up from cold, my pc powers up but goes off straight away and then come back on! ie.. "fans light up and spin go off and come back on and the pc boots!" doesnt hapen when i restart.

As i said i can live with this but just wondering if it could do any damage in anyway?

runnin F5 bios..

thanks in advance

my specs:

This is perfectly normal behaviour; it's to allow the BIOS to check your hardware config and any overclocks before it actually boots up properly. :)

Do most DS3's come with the F1 bios now? I don't really want to have to be messing about when I get the board.

I'll be using 1Gb (2X512Mb) Corsair TwinX TwinX, DDR2 PC6400 (800), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 4-4-4-12, I hope that's acceptable :)

You need the f5 bios at least. ive got the beat f5g and has fixed all my problems. Now my DDR667 works. if you have problems overclocking even to the rated ram speed then upgrad your bios.

Im running my generic 667 at 375 thats a 750fsb and could probably get more out of them.

I finally added a small fan to the main bridge heatsink, and omg, it took temps down by 8 degrees.

you got a pic of that mate. been thinking of putting some sort of fan on mine but struggling to find anything.

I've got a silent 80mm case fan which blows right into the centre of the board. This dropped the temps a lot and keeps the memory area cool as well :)
