**Official Gigabyte Z87X-OC Discussion Thread**

Ah yes sorry.
Thought its the same board.
So my question was about OC Force :-)

And I checked the other board as well.
Is it actually worth paying 200£ more for Force version?

Not unless you want 3/4 way SLI/Crossfire and want the WiFi/Bluetooth.

The OC is more than enough for most people.

One negative if I had to moan is that the top 16X slot is a bit close to the socket so really large heatsinks can get close to the top of a GFX card.

Had a reply for you.

Thanks Stulid and Team AU - I am deffo not goin to bother with extreme then Lol.

A few tips on tuning my oc would be nice as I asked previously - if you have the time guys - I know you are v busy breaking records etc. A great thanks for your input thus far though. Keep up the good work guys.

Ps thanks for putting the dual display option back in version X08 - thanks Dino!!!!!

Can you tell me what is the clearance?
I have Prolimatech Megahalems, so quite big heatsink.

Message to Dino or team AU regarding XO8 bios.

Not sure but I think I may have found some problems with this bios. It flashed ok and I re entered my oc settings which were stable - found I needed to up Vrin and Vcore a notch to avoid 124 errors. Don't think my board or chip has suddenly developed problems so?

The worst problem was yet to come - I then found I was not able to access the bios with either F2 or Del - even tried direct bios button - no dice. The only way I could access bios was via F12 and then selecting bios. The onboard error display stopped each time I tried to get into bios at A6 with a black screen - this occurred with either restart or cold boot.

Let me know what you think guys - or am I just unlucky?

Ive never used occt, keep CPU-Z open and run the AIDA stability test (not full screen so you can still see CPU-Z) and trust that instead.

If you look at the Aida test it shows clock speeds as normal, but has recorded a maximum clock speed that is huge. I could stare at CPU-Z for hours and never see the speeds show like this, as it is happening randomly for a short period of time (judging by temps).

Finally ordered it :D

Looking forward to my upgrade on Tuesday and first attempt at overclocking (with 4770k) :).

Is X08 a beta release? If so, where do I download it as I can't find it on Gigabyte website.

Thanks, by the way.

It is an unofficial bios made for LN2 benching but improves performance for non-LN2 users too. Stulid posted the link for X08 on the previous page:

Stulid: Am I ok to go straight for the X08 bios after making sure my system boots tomorrow or should I do some tests first? (If so, which?)
