**Official Gigabyte Z87X-OC Discussion Thread**

F8 still the latest?

Grabbed 16GB of that 2400mhz hyperX, thought I had a faulty kit but both kits test out just fine on their own, only when all 4 lanes are populated does it BSOD like mad and throw out memtest errors. Googling about this seems to be an issue with Gigabyte Z87 boards and populating all 4 ram slots

Oh gawd - do hope this is not correct, otherwise upgrading ram to 4 sticks is a no go. Surely with all the overclocking records this board achieved in the hands of expert overclockers, somebody must have noticed this issue long time ago. Hope if this is true that Gigabyte issues a fix for it.

Who knows, still testing, Giga's completely retarded bios flashing methods don't help though.

I need to flash F8...efiflasher won't run on a 64bit OS (really, in this day and age??) and trying to get @BIOS to run qflasher is just hitting another brick wall, as in it doesn't actually do anything when I open it.

The BIOS updater is normally fine, but with F8 they have update Qflash which is why it doesnt work, you need to use the correct version of @BIOS to flash F8.

Regarding @BIOS you need to use the latest version B13.1112.1 available here

Maybe it is the new update for 8.1 that is causing the issue as thats a recent release and people were flashing with that new @BIOS before it came out.

Also try right clicking the file and running in administrative mode.

had my setup running with no problems since November then for some reason yesterday one of my hard drives disappeared when using windows. after some tinkering tonight I got it back by changing the port/cable then when testing to see what was the issue now I cant get it back at all. could a bios update possibly help?

its not showing in the bios, in windows or disk management but oddly IRST it shows up but 0gb then after a min says internal empty port. the drive is defo not wiped as all my stuff was on it then one time I managed to get it back.

thanks for any advice :)

edit: got it back now after using another new lead. odd. anyone had anything like this with this board?

I currently have the same issue with one of my Samsung F3 500gb drives. I am unable to see the drive no matter which cables/ports i use. I also got a Samsung F3 1tb and that works fine... never seen this before that one drive just wouldn't work.
tested the drive in my sons PC and it comes up fine.
updated the BIOS to F8 and I tried everything i can think of but no joy.

Updated the drives firmware with the patch?

Thanks stulid, i had just found that firmware fix as well and it is now showing up :-)
This is one crazy motherboard in terms of features, i have never seen so many options in a BIOS.
Will look into overclocking my 4670k now to see how far i can push it.

Well thats annoying....

PC was fine yesterday, turned it off, watched TV, went to bed.

Turned it on real quick this morning to check something, got this...

Fun evening for me tonight then...

I've had that before V_R, click enter bios then save and exit and it should post up fine, put it down to a cold boot bug. That or you likely need a little bump on vcore.

^^ Yup I had that last night. Went into BIOS changed nothing (as the PC hadn't displayed this message in about 4 months) Save + Exit and has been fine since.
