***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Just been playing and thoroughly enjoying the single player at the moment. Kinda want to finish that first before jumping online but also want to get leveling my character there and not being left behind everyone else!

Fantastic game. Dropping MSAA 2x off and just running FXAA gave me an additional 10fps. Get about 50fps minimum in the countryside, 70fps in city and more at night.

Runs smooth as silk as everyone has said, fantastic work on this.

Just got home from work. The game finished unpacking and updating while I was gone, so that's good. But I cant seem to get the game to run. Keep getting this:

Error: We were unable to fallback to offline sign in because you have not previously signed in on this machine. Offline play is only available for accounts that have previously signed in on this machine while connected to the internet and while social club services are available.

But there's no option to go online. Pressing sign in just gives me that message again.

Running this at 3325x1871 (DSR) and it runs very smoothly, I have it capped at 60fps and it sticks to that 90% of the time, it has not gone below 50fps so far.

I use these settings in the screenshots below, I have not used any AA apart from FXAA as downscaled from 3325x1871 to a 32" 1080p screen it's not needed.

I could have ran this at 4k but the frame rate dipped far to often (mainly in very grassy areas) and it was a little stuttery at 50fps and below. At 3325x1871 the image quality is still very nice but the performance hit is not as bad.

I left the Post FX on normal because it made things in the distance far to blurry and looked terrible when maxed out.

Grass is the only thing I turned down from ultra to very high because it caused my frame rate to dip to the 40s and 50s in grassy, forested areas, at very high it's pretty much locked at 60fps with very little difference in image quality that I have noticed.

I have found my sweet spot for performance and image quality :)

Haven't played online yet, so I'm looking forward to that as I have never played this GTA before.

Oh I see, so my Vram usage at just under 3GB, all on high at 4K is normal?

I've been worrying about that all day, thinking it's not playing at the right resolution and I've messed up something etc.

sigh

started installing from the dvd's at about 5:30

still got at least an hour left of the 5GB update to go zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Oh great, so there's still an nasty update on day one... Something to look forward to when my DVD copy is delivered tomorrow. :(

The download from Steam sounded like more trouble than it was worth, so I bought mine from the big A. I had £35 worth of vouchers lying around so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.

Applied under RoyMi6 - what's the deal with voice coms?

EDIT: Scratch that - from first post:

Overclockers UK Public TS: 85.236.100.32:13707
Unofficial OcUK TS: 85.236.100.27:21657 (30 player limit)
PAGAN TS pagan-sc.enjinvoice.com (20-300 slot)

saying that, what's the one people are using really?
