***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Lots of people being banned this morning. Seems the steady drip of bans over the past few days is picking up speed... Again lots are second bans according to the moans n groans of those posting...

Good!!! :)

Just walked past the rockstar building in Edinburgh, looked quite empty.

Woohoo, hopefully a few more days of modder free bliss! They were starting to come back over the past couple of days, but nowhere near in the numbers they've been previously.

It's great seeing the R* forums full of the blub blubbing turds that make everyone elses life a misery with mods, all claiming the "i didnt mod, why am i banned" argument.

Well I have submitted a bug report....

Basically it boils down to this....

if you navigate to the snacks menu using the up arrows (M > inventory, then up arrow up arrow snacks.... There is a two second delay before the use option appears and you can eat a snack. If you use the down arrows to access the snacks menu, there is no delay and a snack can be mashed to full health straight away.

Long and short is.... My Macro for snacks stopped working. It would not eat snacks when in cover.
This happened after the last update. It appears that the issue is with me using the up arrow navigation choice. see video and look in the bottom right hand corner for snack action options.

I have the macro working again using the down arrow option, (first in the video) however that is more key strokes....
That's odd I don't get a delay and I use the up arrows to get to snacks like you.

I've had a weird bug since the last update in that sometimes the menu appears but after I've pressed up/down, everything disappears in the menu. Figured it was just me having issues with it.

Is that when you are in cover or just standing? it is fine in any other situation. expect when in outside cover. Also, It does not happen in solo online sessions.....

It is defo since the last update as I have video's of me using it just fine before... so not entirely sure what to make of it. R* have responded with their usual... reinstall The game, OS, Move house, Switch off the International Space Station (tough luck Mr Peake) blow up mars....

Thank you for sending us your DxDiag and MSinfo.

We would like to have you try the following troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issues you are experiencing.

• Ensure that you have Administrator privileges on the computer you are trying to run the game on.
• Ensure that all non-essential USB devices are disconnected from the computer for the purposes of troubleshooting. This could include (but isn't limited to): game controllers, flight-sticks, etc.
• Update your video and sound drivers. (Refer to manufacturer’s website)
• Disable Background Applications.
It is strongly recommended to turn off all background applications when running graphically intensive programs. Many applications can cause errors such as GPFs, color scrambling, loss of sound effects or music, etc. Taking a minute to turn off these applications can save you the trouble of rebooting later. Background applications include such things as System Agent, Norton Utilities, Internet chat utilities, virus checkers and screen savers. Crash guard programs such as First Aid for Windows can also cause problems.
Windows XP
1. Click Start, then Run.
2. In the Open: box, type msconfig. Click OK.
3. On the General Tab, Click the Selective Startup option.
4. Uncheck the option to Load Startup Items.
5. Click Apply and Close.
6. Answer Yes to Restart Windows.

Windows Vista / Windows 7
1. Click on the Windows icon in the lower left corner of the screen.
2. Click on Start Search.
3. Type in msconfig and press the Enter key on your keyboard.
4. Click the Continue button if the message "Windows needs your permission to continue" appears. If this message does not appear, please continue to step 5.
5. On the General Tab, choose Selective Startup.
6. Uncheck the option to Load Startup items.
7. Click Apply, then Ok, and restart the system when prompted.

• Reinstall DirectX Updates
It is possible that the version of DirectX running on your computer is encountering errors with the game you are trying to play. If this is the case, we advise reinstalling DirectX. The latest version of DirectX can be found here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/179113

• Disable SLI/CrossFireX.
Many games do not support either the SLI or CrossFireX features of Nvidia or ATI video cards. It is advised to disable SLI/CrossFireX if you are running two or more video cards in the same computer when encountering issues. Please refer to manufacturer’s website for more details on how to enable/disable this feature.

8. Click Apply and then click OK to accept the new setting and close the dialog box.

10. Restart Windows.
• Verifying the integrity of the game cache. (only applicable if you have the Steam version of the game)
• Right click on the game in the Steam library and select Properties.
• Navigate to the "Local Files" tab.
• Click "Verify integrity of game cache".
• Uninstall and Reinstall the game completely.
There is a possibility that some of the files which are installed during the setup process are incomplete or corrupted. Try uninstalling the game completely and reinstalling it under its default or express settings.

If none of the above troubleshooting resolves the issue, please contact us back for further troubleshooting with an updated DXDiag and MSInfo.

Was in a great lobby yesterday, no modders when I got there and almost the entire session stuck together, about 20 of us.

Before I got there I think a modder gave the majority of them stun guns and they were shooting each other with them on the yacht :)

Most of us stayed around the yacht, a lot went inside to the bar, we even joined the yacht owner in their apartment on shore.

If only more sessions were like that :)

There's too much sausage and not enough pasty in that hot tub :p

I had a blast yesterday, I joined a lobby and had a 9k bounty put on me by an NPC, I spent the next 25 mins on my bike avoiding the incoming dots. Eventually I popped underground and could see people's dots on the surface looking around trying to work out where I was hiding. Really good fun, eventually some guy figured out what I was doing and showed up in a Kuruma. I didn't even bother trying to shoot back, he deserved that one after chasing me around for ages :D

Might get someone to put a bounty on me and do it again, it's thrilling!

Join the crew :) there's a good few of us on every night who'll be able to help run you through some missions to level up and make some easy money to get started.

I'm usually on most evenings, add me to friends (my ingame name is Slashb0red) - just drop me a shout if you spot me on and we'll run some :D

OK so gamble can't replicate it. Out of interest are you R* SC or Steam?

As I said, Only happens in multiplayer sessions, not online solo.

No idea.

I am r*sc, and I was in a public lobby also with about 10 other people.

I haven't put time into online but looks like I am missing out, but where do I start?!

Any noobie tips?

Yeah as Atari said add some of us, join the crew and jump online.

Generally most people grind missions/steal cars for the character Simeon yo earn enough dosh for a high end apartment then when you reach level 12 you can host heists which is where the big money is :)

Crew and my profile are in my signature.

I will be online later on guys, anything going on tonight? I wanted to spend the afternoon playing but fell asleep.

Believe I am already in the OcUK Crew! Will send you a friends request, won't be around much this evening been a long day but appreciate the offer and hope to catch you online soon :)
