Guys is there any difference using the ingames scaling compared to using Nvidia's DSR?
I havent tried comparing them myself but i remember watching a youtube vid of a guy trying them and he said the ingame one was a bit more demanding leaving a bigger hit on the FPS. I used the ingame one sometimes when i was AMD and i thought it looked ok as long as you only went for 2x, all the inbetween options like 1.5 looked a bit blurry.
Any pointed to reduce stutter/ random frame drops?
It's ruining my experience. Only happens after 20mins or so.
Neither my cpu or gpu are getting stressed or hot.
Gtx 1080 running at 75%
7700k runnning at 30-40%
Temps under 60c on both.
Running at 1440p ultra with sync to 60 fps in nvidia control panel and not in game.

Frame drops are one of the annoying things I'm experiencing. Silky smooth then a bit of a drop. Irritating.
I tried limiting to 60fps using Afterburner but it'll still do it occasionally.
Not noticed any issues with performance/stuttering here. Everything on max except no AA and grass on high + motion blur & DOF turned off.
EDIT:
Just remembered that with sweetfx (k-putts), I have to alt tab out then alt tab back in, in order to avoid FPS drops. For some reason with sweetfx running, there is awful stuttering and fps drops to 30 if I don't alt tab out first.

Thats GTA Vsync related not SweetFX related.
For some reason if you go below a certain FPS GTA Vsync will drop you all the way down to 30. SweetFX must be taking your fps just below that threshold.
Weird one, but like you say a quick alt-tab fixes it
Possibly, it just seems odd that it only happens with sweetfx enabled, as the hit is only about 2-5fps and I drop below 60 in certain areas without sweetfx any way, yet the FPS doesn't go all the way down to 30. The same happens in some other games too i.e. batman arkham knight (this is without sweetfx though)

I had a thread about this ages ago, it was a problem with vsync, if you alt tab out and then back in it fixes it, no more frame drops for me, after, constant 60fps

Ah brilliant, that may be why I've not noticed it. I've been alt-tabbing the last few times I played it to check on CPU temps haha.
I hope I've helped you guys, if not karma has got me back, formatted yesterday, installed gtav before, the cloud save syncs are not for gtav SP, so my save game is lost, I was only half way through a playthrough, maybe start again if I get a 1080ti lol ;(

Haha thats why I only ever enter Free Aim lobbies, I once got destroyed by someone that could only be aimbot (literally show an inch of your face and boom hs) and then realised it was Assisted Aim

Finally done the criminal mastermind 
Took all day as we had to restart from Humane labs, was a silly death on Valkyrie... but was real good fun. Starts to get really really scary when getting towards the end of Pacific Standard lol.
Pacific Standard is even easier now that the Karuma method is gone
