@Nexus18 those screens inspired me to load up and roast my 3080 with some raytraced action

These are the best I can do but damn theres something so cool about the glow from the light bouncing off the walls, I guess this would be down to global illumination?

Yup RT GI goodness Wait till sunset time!

Make sure you turn on RTX HDR too, if you need some extra perf back, seems like turning rt down a bit brings a nice boost without sacrificing the iq too much:

Forget max settings in GTA 5 Enhanced, my advice is to enable Very High RT and enjoy the show

GTA 5 has received a significant dose of the shinies.

I don't have a HDR monitor

Edit: in my defense I have a fast VA panel with blacks pretty much the same as an OLED just without the instance pixel response

HDR is what you need now! Probably the biggest improvement to IQ (just as much, if not more than RT improvements tbh)

All good here but I'm on oled with HDR that helps in shadow detail etc.

It's great. I'm running all settings at max and ultra RT on my 7900XT getting 70-90 fps. No FSR enabled either. May try lowering some RT settings to boost fps a bit.

Is that 1440 or 4k?
It's the kinda game I'd prefer to play on my TV from the sofa, at least for single player!

It's 1080p, probably would lower the RT if I ran it higher.

Those are some great screens.

I only play Online and need to be on my game sometimes and keep having moments where I'm like nah, give me my performance back. I've noticed the image is clearer without raytracing enabled, almost like higher res.
Then I'll have a moment where I spot rasterised shadows looking bad and toggle back to raytracing lol and its a never ending cycle.

Vanilla vs. RT Shadows - Imgsli

With Vanilla the tree trunks were moving across the wall with the sun and were aliased af as you can see in the screenshot. And wtf - is that the little shrub casting a huge shadow on the wall?!

The game just looks so damn clean.

Had my first thunder and lighting storm there and the way the world lights up, just incredible looking, videos don't do it justice:

Some of the lighting situations are pretty ridiculous? And is one thing you know Rockstar is gonna nail in GTA6 based on this and Red Dead

Went to play the weekend - thought my save would just sync. Unistalled old version ready to install new one then read that you need to have both installed to transfer save "Doh"

I did read somewhere you can just transfer your save file across - but
a) I haven't tried it
b) I can't remember where i read it

Edit: I also did the same thing - but I decided that if i want to do SP again, i'll just start again as I wasn't that far through IIRC.
