***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Ok, this is officially the last time I pre-order a retail copy. No post at all today. If postman hasn't been by 1pm, then usually means there isn't going to be any post. Oh well. Digital only from now on. Lesson learnt.

Everyones praising Rockstar for a bang on release. They've done well, but with the bloody time it's taken to get here, should we have expected anything less?

I took this for a spin last night when it unlocked as I had to relinquish my excitement before going to bed!

I'm currently using normal textures as putting it them on high was an instant +200MB over my VRAM limit, whereas normal textures, before touching anything else, was sitting comfortably at 1400MB VRAM. I turned a few other things up to v-high, left AA off for the time being, and didn't touch any of the 'Advanced Graphics' settings. So, a mix of high and v-high with normal textures and I was getting 80-110fps during the opening sequence. As soon as I gained control of Franklin I was still sitting pretty on 80-90fps. I want to push it harder as I obviously have enough GPU grunt, but my VRAM was at 1800MB at that point. Will see how it goes though!

Just enable the option that allows you to exceed your vram. My GPU only has 1GB, and the settings I've got have pushed it around 20% over that, and I'm still getting close to 50fps.

Guys its not that is a good port its the fact the Game was designed for PC in mind right from day one ! You put in the foundations correctly and you come away with a master peace :) Well done Rockstar - This is the BEST game ever to come out on a PC in my book.

Can't post the video directly due to some minor some swear word, but a guy was basically live streaming during the install/setup process for GTA V and someone used his key before he could activate it fully :o

Youtube code thing for video: pEiyA0cGSAo

This happened to Towelliee too, he wasn't to fussed until once its linked steam you can't use any serial other then the one that is on your steam.... so he was unable to reuse a serial i believe.

Anyone here on a 4670k and 290 claiming to be getting 60fps constantly on full max, can you show me your exact settings please as I'm only getting 40-50FPS

they might not have msaa on and the advanced shadow options if you can't get the same fps.

with those off on a 280x I'm getting almost a solid 60fps.

4670k @ 4ghz (if yours is stock then maybe the game is cpu bound)

Gents, out of interest - those playing with 2Gb VRAM GPU's specifically, what video settings are you using and finding the best for quality without sacrificing much in the way of speed and smoothness?
