***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Does anyone have an issue with the Paparazzo side mission, where you chase the limo trying to get some photos, mine keeps crashing after the second bike turns up.

Hoping for a graphics card benchmark shortly. Thinking of getting a 290 4gb on finance, or an Nvidia GTX 970 is a similar price and would let me keep my 3d vision fun that I rarely use lol.
But wouldn't want to use my money on those without knowing I could play the game well!

Just a tip for those people with AMD 5000/6000 cards and Nvidia 400/500 cards.... Turn DirectX down to 10 (it defaults to 11). This made a HUGE difference in performance for me on a 5850.

Who invented the word "port" anyway? How does one "port" a game lol?
It seems like a slang term just meaning a game is on more than one platform or it could be the big red button devs have that says 'press to port game' lol.

Sorry to bump this but would love to get an informed answer. :)

theres a grass setting.

it may be effected by post effects and dx level at a guess

Anybody been able to test out SLI performance? I get the same performance with one of my 670's as I do with both :o

There is a difference, GTA IV was ported and hence the reputation the game got on PC and GTA V was built from the ground up for PC.

A game built for consoles doesn't necessarily mean it will work straight off the bat on PC, different architecture. Nowadays with next generation consoles they're practically computers which means bad ports will be a thing of the past (you hope).
