Yep menu is laggy/slow

So is a 970 good enough for this game?

I ask because GTA IV was terrible with it.

Cheers

Explain terrible, I can play gta 4 fine at 2560x1440. Over 45 fps at most times.

Unless you want solid 60 FPS :p.

GTA 5 seems to utilize cpu power better, I"m getting over 95% cpu usage when freeroaming. Maxed out my fps are definitely lower in GTA 5 than in gta 4...

Mix of medium and high settings and you should be more than fine on a gtx980 if you want 60 fps, or just max out the game and enjoy the view with a a few framedrops to the 40's/50's at a guess with that card.

With previous GTA's I always found that when driving at speed I would get noticeable drops in FPS, even with a 970. Are you guys still seeing this with the new one? It always detracted a bit from the enjoyment of the game as driving fast is such a key part of the franchise. Lowering graphics never seemed to have much affect on it either.

I just bought it from Nuuvem (20 quid ftw!) but I'm forced to download it through Rockstar's servers now and it's so bloody slow + requires constant pause/unpause, argh! I tried to even torrent it but too many stupid people downloading it without a crack and just leeching. Anyone else having problems with the download? I imagine it's not gonna improve much for the next few days.

I had hopped to play tonight however its jumping between 400kb/s and 15MB/s so no idea how long it will take.

Looking forward to finishing work so I can have a go at this later.

Although not sure what performance I'll get:

i7 4770K, 16GB 1866MHz RAM, 4GB GTX 770 running a 30" 2560x1600 monitor.

Think it'll struggle on decent settings at that res?

I kept getting errors in the basket when trying to use Nuuvem/Hola. How did you get it?

In the Graphics and Advanced Graphics settings I don't see options such as Low/Med/High I'm guessing mine has been set to a pre-set and the only options I see changeable are MSAA and Shadow/Draw Distance etc.

Please somebody point out the obvious which I am missing.

Edit: Oh WOW, ignore me... :D

Arrived home surprised to find a parcel on my bed, opened it to find GTA V box. :D Took Gamestop a day to delivered GTA V from Newry from Northern Ireland to Scotland.

Now install it from Blu-ray drive. Will let you know how long it take.

Images over 1,280 pixels wide should be placed in spoiler tags as I've done for you.

Cheers
