***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

I have set mine up for Adaptive VSync in Nvidia Control panel, and then turned Vsync off in game and it sticks at a solid 60FPS but to be fair, it did before as well even at 59FPS with in game Vsync on.

As long as its running smooth I am happy at the moment.

Saying that I am upgrading both my cards in July(god knows what I will go for though, im hoping Nvidia release something along the lines of a 980TI or something as titan X prices make me feel ill haha) so will definitely be focusing more on getting Ultra settings then plus gfx mods when they come out :)

EDIT: Last night I complained about the heists glitching during the setup and freezing it for all players.....I found out after I turned the game off it was me :S Internet had been playing up all night according to my router logs and the connection dropped at about 00:30 completely and is still out today - seems like an issue with Virgin.

Hopefully its fixed when I get home

I guess this was just a simple number change to enable snow at all times, but I wish Rockstar would come out and say whether nor not mods are supported already. Playing with some sort of FOV mod (I use Flawless Widescreen) is a must when playing this game in first person, feels so low otherwise, and I'm actually having a lot more fun in first person now, especially in drive-by shootings :D

You need to be careful with flawless widescreen, it "could" get you banned :(

I'll have another play around tonight then, no idea why it didn't work.

Maybe its cos of the 59 u see for refresh rate in game. Check the monitor settings to see if its set to 60 and not 59. Then go in game and change it there to 60 if possible, if failing that go to my docs, rs, gtav and find a settings file. Edit with notepad ++ or somit and find the refresh rate and set it to 60 then save and then maybe make the file read only. Now then try again playing with adaptive vsync. Hope it works and oh make sure its full screen also ingame, not windowed maximized or somit.

Code:
Right-click the windows desktop, and then click Personalize.
Click Display.
Click Change display settings.
Click Advanced settings.
Click the Monitor tab and change Screen refresh rate from 59 Hertz to 60 Hertz.
Click Ok.
Return to Advanced settings.

Worst comes to worst try this.

The tool i assume for the thread linked info.

To get 60hz. I believe your tearing is because of this 1hz issue, crazy i know but probably true knowing the pc. :p

Also keep in mind you must hit 60fps for it to work. If you have your settings to high or somit and your getting less fps than 60 it may induce tearing for all i know, doubt it but hey the intro is locked to 30 and theres bad tearing but ingame for me at 60fps and no tearing so.. Who knows, but thought id mention it incase your fps counter doesnt show 60 or in your case maybe 59.

Ash did you set it to adaptive Vsync or just Vsync?

Read that Nvidia performance report, it recommends for 1080p to turn off MSAA and to use TXAA along with enabled DSR in the Nvidia Control Panel. Think I may have a play with that later, see what it's all about as I haven't used DSR before. Doing this method apparently negates the need for MSAA.

Not sure what the performance gains/loses are yet until I try it.

Where did you read this? Please link.

I was happy with my settings, happily playing away. Then I decided to fiddle. Now I am no longer happy! :o

Same :o

I have now reduced reflection quality to very high and tess. to high.

Happy with my settings now, just need to wait for nvidia to update the article on a few of the other settings.

Yeah I know :( I've heard that for some people that the game has detected that they are using a modified version of the game (in MP), and it just kicks them out of the session.

We'll have to wait and see if people start to get banned for it though... including (potentially) me :o

Loving GTA online so far, however the chat system still confuses me. During free roam you have "ALL" and nothing else? So i can't talk to individual people and anything I say is essentially global chat.

Is there a way to make groups or do friend messages outside of using Rockstar Social Club messages?

Also how does the voice work? Seems like that is global too and not close quarters voice.

It is definitely worth changing the settings yourself, there is very little to no difference visually between ultra, very high and high for some of the settings, only a performance hit.

I think when online you can press ESC and go to friends. You can see people online and attempt to join their servers, but it seems quite dodgy.

I've not used the in game voice yet. I just jumped onto the Teamspeak server and tried to get in games with some of the OCUK guys (it was fun!).

Green flash , red flash , abit of what I thought was artifcating , spoke to a few people with 970s , 980s, and they all seem to get the same , not sure about amd users , it's for a split second randomly as you say and not all that often butmfrequent enough to notice it pop up

Just green for me, i'm on a 670gtx though. It's not bothering me too much as it seems to be the only problem I have now I got rid of the lockups when trying to shoot from cars.

Jumped on last night for a bit.

Had a round of golf which was actually quite enjoyable :D Got a load of RP for it as well so its a nice little RP grinder for 9 holes.

Shame I went +4 :(

Just had a blast for an hour or so on single player. No issues to report, switched to adaptive v-sync in nvidia inspector and tweaked settings slightly and it plays much smoother. Still obviously get dips in fps with grass when off road but no way near as bad as before.
