***Official GTX 670 thread***

I'm sorry, but wasn't it concluded that OCed 7970=680-with-turbo-boost in terms of performance?

In that case, what is the point in getting a 670 for the price of 7970?

This^, people seem to be getting caught up in some hype here, the 670 looks like being an amazing card but don't discount the 7970 if you overclock.

Also I expect the 7950 to come down in price almost immediately if the 670 totally outclasses it.

OCUK are selling 7970 for £360, wait for the reviews to be absolutely sure but I don't think I would be buying a £340 stock 670 in preference to that.

Unless you get a decent clocking 7970 and are able to tolerate amd's drivers for the 79x0 cards then its still a worth while buy, don't forget the ref 670's are upto £40 cheaper than custom, which I would think makes it cheaper for ref vs ref.

I think ref 670's will come in around £340, Gibbo has hinted as much. So you are talking ~£20 more for a 7970.

In the main 7970's seem to be decent clockers, as I'm sure 670 will be. In my experience AMD/ATI drivers are fine for single cards, of course the odd person will always have a problem, just like Nvidia drivers. If I was thinking of going multi GPU in the future though I wouldn't touch the 7xxx series.

Launch day prices always have a premium on them, and retailers are always cautious over what their competitors are doing. Plus Nvidia will be watching ATI to see what they do. Just be patient, there isn't even official prices yet!!

So that's easy to decide which one to buy now, EVGA for reference design :p

Is there a full length PCB version from EVGA though?

Meh at least there is a PCB to match Asus's awful colour choice on motherboards :p

You can all see how much better it looks with an ek backplate on Friday ;)
