****Official GTX580 user reviews/benchmarking/overclocking thread****

Stating the fastest GPU on the planet in a overclocking benchmark thread is contrived.

It adds no value whatsoever. Plus you will have to edit it when the top end 6900 series hit.To avoid upsetting people just edit it with the bare facts and no narrative enhancement?

Just a thought. :)

I get a broad idea of what a gpu is like by looking at reviews and listening to popular opinion but on this one am just going to purchase and make my own mind up, everyone wants to be a critic it seems.
 
Please you're derailing the thread, if you have noting constructive to add then don't post, every review site will describe it as the fastest GPU on the planet. This thread is about the 580 not about you how some members don't like the fact the 580 is the fastest GPU on the planet.

Vantage with 870 core GTX480, I cant believe what the 580 gets in Vantage.

lol its so funny round here these days, a load of touchy mares poised to jump in and add to the tit for tat bickering. Think this place is getting as tense as the palastinian/isreali border. Maybe the mods could create a DMZ
 
Look at you all getting your panties in a twist because raven (a little incendiary, but quite accurately) labelled the 580 as the fastest GPU 'almost' available. (I'll delete the almost later today for the particularly pedantic among us.)

Grow up, it's like being back in the playground arguing over which Transformer was the best (Op obviously...)
 
Vantage seems to like the gtx580. There is 6k advantage to the gtx580 in gpu score which from the first review does not translate into the same performance lead in games. Vantage is not a good judge on gtx480 v gtx580 i feel.

The point is you know amd fanboys will come and ruin the thread with that opening sentence so why do it when theres no need, thats why people are saying its a stupid first line.

This is on par for the course. It was supposed to be but the fanboys go completly out of control the closer we get to a new card launch and start to derail threads. Try and ignore the silly posts until they get deleted or we start seeing a little common sense prevail.
