Hi guys looking to get 1 or 2 GTX 580s in the next couple of weeks for my new rig (same as one in sig but different mobo so there is room to SLI with a gap between cards.) The Palit pricing on OCUK is very good and I hear they are not bad (my 480 is a sparkle so i am not too proud to buy small brands) - my only concern is i remember one of the yellow stickered brands (Palit / Zotac) had real problems at 480/580 launch with poorly attached heatsinks. Think it was Zotac and by now I would assume any problems had been sorted.

Any problems with Palit 580s here? (stock cooling, 1.5gb version) thanks :)
 
both of my 580s are Palits and I've never had a problem with either of them, when they were on the stock cooler. Both are on water now and are going strong.....
 
Been thinking of changing my 2nd pc over from a 4.4 920 with GTX 460 to a sandy bridge as a lot of places rate the sandy i7's as way better, but everytime i see the benchamrks on vantage for sandy they dont come close to my 920, sandy seems to hit around low to mid 30k for CPU score with nvidia related card helping, yet my 920 with 460 will pull 47k.

So my Q really, Is there a very noticable in real world apllications or should i stick with what i have.

Funny actualy coz i have an ati card with my I7980 that cpu hits a measly 38k HA :P
 
stick with what you have and upgraded later on when more juicy stuff is unleashed by intel

also wana check how well my 580s oc, which freebies apps do peeps reckomend for checking stabilitly?

Palit don't have the best rep when it comes to customers services regarding the warrentee.
 
well got 2 of these buggers one plain zotac one which i got when 580s were released and the infamouse msi/oc.uk oc one (well it wasnt oced)

have never benched anything apart from a gf2 card with q3a i think years ago

noot too sure if the final sli score is brilliant or not as i hardly have ever benchmarked anyof my gfx cards till now, just really testing for stability
