Official GTX780 review thread

I just sent an oced Titan round the block in Heaven 4 using the same settings

I can oc the card higher but could not be bothered, my CPU was at 4.0ghz for the same reason

All I can say is they must have been using a pretty awful Titan as mine individually are not the fastest.:D

It could be a driver issue or something as there titan was boosting to 1162 which is pretty good. With these clock speeds you would expect a much bigger boost in performance than the 5% they got.

Its weird but seems to be matched up by the TITAN SLI results which only showed similar increase at the same clockspeeds compared to reference.

You should see some improvement, especially with more filtering applied. How much you value that though is debatable as you are likely comparing high FPS to very high FPS which is indistinguishable to the human eye.

I ran the same bench with +122 on the core and + 249 on the memory (+168 is my highest on the core with +550 on the memory). That Titan Score for Heaven you have Webbo is very low?

Using 320.18 btw.

The GeForce GTX 780 is a sexy piece of graphics hardware built on top of an impossibly-complex 7.1 billion-transistor GPU. It’s very fast, very quiet, and includes several other attractive features. But, I’m going to wait a week before deciding what I’d spend my money on in the high-end graphics market. You’d be wise to do the same

Either they are talking about the GTX770 or a new AMD card??

Which drivers/clockspeed is that on mate? I ran mine at 997Mhz Forceware 314.22.

Hoping NV didn't send me a dud although it had been round the block a few times!

I was using 314.22 as well

3930k @4.0

Titan @+174/+328

I did not want to use any higher clocks as the above is about as far as you can go on air.

I also find for a single card the 320.00 family of drivers work the best for benching but for more than one card 314.22 work better.

Sorry w3bbo I did not realise it was your review.

To summarise:
The GTX 780 is a formidable GPU. It surpassed our expectations in respect to raw power and while the cost will be an issue for many, those who can afford such a luxury will be impressed by everything this card possesses be it overclocking prowess, aesthetics, acoustics or simply its awesome performance.

+1

This also caught my attention. But I wouldn't keep my hopes up from AMD. Most probably he is referring to 770.

^^ Probably just the GTX 770 launch, thing is it's only a 680 rebrand? Hardly worth waiting for over the 780 if you've decided on Nvidia tbh. Not unless you're considering dual cards anyway..

A bit of a quandary, as we are fairly sure that it has to be the 770 he's meaning and we know that this is a slightly higher clocked 680 part. it will all come down to price, which judging by the 780 could be quite steep, probably around £400 which in its self is strange for I'm sure that there was a slide that said it was $50 cheaper than the 680.

I think even Gibbo hinted at the £350 mark somewhere in some thread.

£350 for a 770? sounds to good to be true. I don't see the 680 prices budging, and with the 780 at £550 I fully expect the 770 to be £400-450.

If it is £350 then wow... I might even return my 780 for a 770.
