Finally finished it, not sure why all the reviews are so high - yeah for the first 10 or so hours it was great but then you realise the voice acting, character animations, repetitive missions, repetitive dialogue & customisation is awful. :/
I'm about 5 hours in and am bored stiff. Going to keep pushing through until it opens out more, but it might get sold before I finish it

I'm 24 hours in, still lot of the main story to do as been side tracked on side quests and collectables but can already feel my interest waining.

Gonna focus on ploughing through the story before I get fed up. Is good but like most games now the filler is just bloat to say the game is 60+ hours and justify the price tag somewhat.

Was aiming for platinum on Cyberpunk and made good progress but looked at the ncpd scanner missions in the map after completing loads and still had a sea of icons and lost the will to live... not even hard, it's just a pointless slog. This has a similar feel when I think of the field guide pages etc.

Interesting because Cyberpunk is what I’ve chosen after completing Hogwarts Legacy. Never completed it my save says 19 hours but I’ve started another character.

Not knocking Cyberpunk, absolutely love it. Just wish devs put more thought into the trophies and side quests. I'd rather have less that were better quality and more meaningful than repetitive fetch quests.

Well that's the main story part completed. About 25 hours on my save and level 27 or 28, I forget which. I'm not much of a gamer these days so I found the last bit pretty damn tough but perhaps if I'd done more of the side quests etc I would've been a higher level. I also didn't spent much time levelling up my gear which probably contributed, but regardless, I got there in the end.

Still tons of side quests to do and other bits and pieces. Not sure how far I'll go but I don't feel done with the game yet.

The game scales the content to your level, so probably wouldn't make much of a difference with respect to difficulty. I've just finished tbe main quest at lvl 38 ... having done quite a bit of exploration and other things. Really liked the game, but don't think I can be bothered to get the platinum trophy.

100%. Should be standard by now.

Yeah, a huge omission. So many games do that right nowadays. It's so much more immersive and can also serve as an additional measure to prevent OLED burn-in, though I'm not actually that worried about the latter but better safe than sorry.

Having to play with all the clutter on the screen all the time kills it for me personally.

Just started this, got sorted into Slytherin.
Digging the atmosphere a lot but it begs for a dynamic HUD, it's 2023 FFS.

Horizon Zero Dawn did it back in 2017, I agree it should be standard now, particularly now that a lot of people game on tv's that can and have been susceptible to burn in, such as OLED, although its not so much an issue as it once was.

I am fairly early into the game (lvl 14 with 7 hours played) and early on as I travelled around Hogwarts etc I saw loads of the eyeball chests, wondering how to open then, now I know how to, I can't bloody find them again.

There's a wall somewhere that has a big painting with a lock type thing above it that required a certain spell that I walked past constantly near the beginning but never had the right one to unlock it. Now that I've got the right spell, I've never walked past it once during a quest or even when I'm just wandering, and I'm up at 30 hours played...

I'm sure they're hiding them on purpose once you're able to unlock them!

Absolutely loved this game, completed it today. Level 40 - Done pretty much everything now, was going to go for Plat but seems you have to restart the game over to get to the map chamber as each house, seems abit pointless. Also the breed all beasts trophy has glitched aswell seems to be stuck at 91%, ah well

The whole game was superb, everything just seemed to click and the attention to detail was excellent :) The puzzles, whilst not difficult was great to see how the mechanics work. I hated only one mission, and that was a confusing maze mess of a haunted house really broke the immersion and took me out of the game, seemed to go on forever

All in all a fantastic experience :D

Revelio!

The poltergeist mission? Yeah dragged in a bit but it was quite fun and different I thought.

Yeah that's the one.

Been thinking what to play next, going for Resident Evil 4 I think, never played it first time round and I loved the RE 2 Remake, hope this is just as good if not better

My £35 used vinted copy arrived yesterday - at that price I can probably complete it and sell it to get my money back (not that I'm tight but I only breathe in).

I'm really enjoying it - I have just passed my flying class and purchased a broom.

It took me a little while to get my controller settings dialled in - I ended up turning off acceleration completely and messing with the sliders until it felt right - the default settings were horrible.

I somehow have an 11 hour playtime in 2 days whoops

Going by another gaming forum that ends with -era, I see that the gender police have a bee in their bonnet over Hogwarts Legacy.

Gladly Overclockers as a forum is mainly discussing this on its merits as a console game. I can see there is also a HL thread in the PC games section, but I'm not sure whether to get the PC version or stay on-topic here and grab the Switch version when it comes out in July. Can someone help me decide please?

- PC running an RTX 3070, so better graphics, but only on a 27" monitor
- Nintendo Switch, so not as good graphics, but running on a 65" TV

As for the sorting hat poll, I put Hufflepuff, as I've had a few family members thinking that I'm Hufflepuff and that was how Pottermore sorted me also. The site btw is now Wizarding World Digital, but Pottermore is the name that sticks because it's less of a mouthful :D

I'd go with PC. I can't imagine this game running well on a Switch ; the concessions they'd have to make will be significant, in my opinion.
