You'r forgetting the 5-10% estimated speed increase per Mhz. Certainly not worth upgrading to from Ivy but you cannot deny it will be faster than ivy, clock for clock.

Q3 2013 IIRC, but even if IB-E is soldered, its not going to be able to outperform naked IB, so IB-E can only have a ~4-5% clock for clock performance increase over SB-E unless they drastically rework the architecture.

I'm very much hoping my EVGA NEX will be compatible with Haswell, I know I don't use sleep mode too much (or USB3 for that matter), but I would still be a bit miffed if it's not compatible as it wasn't exactly the cheapest of PSU's

just read this, as says in post, they have no idea if is stable, but being able to boot at 5.0 from that low a voltage looks good as well.

I'm still struggling to justify an upgrade to Haswell from an i5-3570K. I think, as I did when I went Clarkdale -> Ivy Bridge, i'll skip a generation and put the money towards a graphics card upgrade instead.

That's no offence intended to those who do choose to upgrade to Haswell - good luck and have fun with your new hardware!

I'm going to take those voltages with a pinch of salt, but the fact that they managed 5Ghz on an Extreme 4 board seems promising.

I would have said the same thing however there does not seem to be much going out of the AMD/Nvidia camps this year other than some dressed up rebadges.

New 20nm card from AMD is possible before the end of the year, according to recent "leaks" anyway.

Yeah, I'm going with the idle voltage but high clocks... If it really is that good of a chip, I'm gonna jump on Haswell-E.

Yeah idle voltages and max clock with ht disabled just to get into windows. Promising nontheless. Yeah, probably nit worth it for those on ivy and possibly Sandy but the clock for clock speed Vs Bloomfield is going to be significant with the bonus of much better thermals and power efficiency!
