Motion Sensor

Kinect uses a motion sensor that tracks your entire body. So when you play, it’s not only about your hands and wrists. It’s about all of you. Arms, legs, knees, waist, hips and so on.

Skeletal Tracking

As you play, Kinect creates a digital skeleton of you based on depth data. So when you move left or right or jump around, the sensor will capture it and put you in the game.

Facial Recognition

Kinect ID remembers who you are by collecting physical data that’s stored in your profile. So when you want to play again, Kinect will know it’s you, making it easy to jump in whenever you want.

Voice Recognition

Kinect uses four strategically placed microphones within the sensor to recognize and separate your voice from the other noises in the room, so you can control movies and more with your voice.

People are starting to get theirs delivered today, so thought it'd be nice to have somewhere to laugh/cry/share your opinions of what is a quite casual and slightly different experience.

I'm looking forward to giving it a go, but it's main purpose is to replace the Wii in our house, which has a very casual gamer slant to it..

My Brother had his delivered this morning, he's trying it out before the kids get home from school.. My local indy was selling them today, and I've had a text from the missus to say if I'm sad enough I can pick hers up midnight for her from a midnight launch (If it was a PS4/Xbox720/Wii HD I'd do it, but for this.. no way)

Where did he get his order from?
 
I already sold Wii last August and bought Xbox 360 Slim 250GB plus pre-order for Kinect so I get it on Thursday with EA Sport Active 2 so I will let u know how it getting on. I also have Xbox 360 steering wheel that really good with F1 2010 and Forza 3 also Need for Speed Shift that seem so cool to drive fun.

I find out when I get Kinect and see if it good or not - my bedroom has plenty of space so I dont have problem
 
Personally I think if I was even considering gettin a Kinect.... I'd buy a Wii. I mean the Wii has been developed specifically for motion controll where this well I dunno.

Maybe its just becasue the games that make use of the motion control I see for it just look pretty lame.

I will reserve judgement for now but I certainly will not be buying it for a while

It's a 250Gb bundle, from the purple shirt brigade, he went over to the depot to collect it as it wasn't due out for delivery today (He uses them with work a lot, so knows the guys down there)..

I also popped into my local indy lunchtime, and 2 people where walking out with them, but he's quite a good bloke, as long as he knows you, he normally allows them out the day before to combat all the online places, I was half tempted to get one, but I'm just not that hyped and he was charging full price for games etc..

I'm amazed people's pre-orders are not here a day early, but reading around I don't see a swathe of people saying theirs has arrived early..

Got my "Yourshape: Fitness Evolved" today and confirmation my Kinect was shipped today by Microsoft - only ordered it 3 weeks ago direct from them as everywhere else was out!
 
Kinect and Kinectimals/Dance Central and i'll be buying Your Shape Fittnes on fri/sat sometime, also see what demos are up on LIVE.

Got mine last night and have just been having a proper play now. Hugely impressed overall, the voice recognition in particular seems to work flawlessly but watching the kinect scan your entire body in fitness evolved it truly jaw dropping!
 
I take it my 120Gb Elite is compatible with kinect out the box ??

Half tempted to trade in my 120Gb elite and pay the rest for the £300 slim with kinect :confused:
