*** Official Kodi (née XBMC) Thread ***

I'm having something similar with the latest version of openelec... it's like the update routing isn't working problem...

Getting frustrated again and thinking of going back to windows again.

Has anyone found a decent solution for network music playback on XBMC? The built in player is terrible.

Usually what I do when I have problems with it detecting programs or episodes is use the files option and navigate to the folder. Assuming you find the folder where the episodes live, press i (Info) to see if it can manually search for the episode? It could be a naming thing...

Thanks, I'll try again. Part of my problem is I'm using a semi-broken Logitech diNovo mini to control things so it gets painful to do anything too intricate, and then I get annoyed and just find the simplest solution Right Now instead of sorting out the long term issue.

Hi all,

Bit of an odd request, but can anyone recommend or point me towards some low-resolution optimised skins for XBMC please?

I've got XBMC running in my car using the manufacturer screen which is nowhere near a HD resolution, but some of the text can be difficult to read. I'd like to hopefully find a skin that can help resolve this.

Thanks.

Probably re-touched as that has a 'big' mode I think

Thanks, I'll give that a try

I found a skin somebody had made for the interface board I'm using between the Pi and the car, it's a little rough but it's working. I'd like the embedded album art (embedded into the MP3 file) to show up on the home screen, is there a way to enable this?

Did anyone else have any issues updating to 14.0? My library disappeared and looks like I have to re-scan everything!! :(

What OS, where is your library stored?

When updating to Kodi (on Windows at least), it asks you if you are doing an upgrade, and it will move the data from the XBMC directory within AppData to the new Kodi directory.

The databases are also newer versions, so the database will be copied and upgraded at the same time.

If you're using MySQL for databases, you need to ensure that you've got permissions to create new databases on the server.

My upgrades to 14.0 went smoothly, and I really didn't notice any real difference in the end.

It's just a basic install on win7. Database is stored wherever it usually is! Yes it mentioned uninstalling old xbmc and copying over settings and Library during the install but was empty when started!

OK you can try to "manually" do the stuff that the Kodi installer would have done.

Go to Start -> Run, and type the following:

%appdata%\XBMC

This should bring you to the old XBMC userdata directory.

Copy the entire contents of this, and paste it into:

%appdata%\Kodi

Run Kodi, and it should then find the existing database(s), and upgrade them to the latest version - and you should then have exactly what you had previously.

Trying to get the Rom Collection Browser setup but so far it installs and when selected does absolutely nothing at all, just returns me to the program add ons list.

Guess its time to convince the other half to just let me hook the Snes up in the living room :)

I had a look at that as well, didn't get anywhere either, anyone got a quick guide?

Bought a HDMI-USB CEC adapter from pulse 8 which arrived today, quick 5 mins play with keycap editor and now my HTPC / Kodi is fully controllable with my Panasonic GT50 remote, pretty much finished for now, apart from the RCB can't think of anything else I want or need to add now :)

Bit of a Kodi virgin but my Pi2 arrived this morning and the new OpenELEC image boots fine. Will play with it later and see how I get on.

Guys, I have a little mini PC that I put Ubuntu on last night and then installed XBMC, I'm only interested in XBMC so wanted the best performance from it and not a big O/S. Everything seemed to be working flawlessly and I left it scanning my NAS overnight, this morning it had finished and I rebooted the PC, Ubuntu booted up and XBMC appeared to have uninstalled. (Only had an install option when searching for it in the store)

I don't really trust Ubuntu now, what are my other alternatives? It's all on an SSD.
