Seems to be just one addon, it doesnt always freeze the rpi2 but the message of tv shows updating stays there and doesn't disappear for some reason.
 
I've had that too, it's the addon not related to the Pi. I've had it on all 3 of my Kodi installations, so removed the addon as I don't use it.
 
Ok, so I've tried the UnoTelly free trial and it hasn't worked. I can stream, but still getting buffering issues. The main problem is the andriod box will only allow DNS changes via wireless. So I had to change from wired to wireless which probably won't help with speeds.

I need a VPN solution, as it's much easier to flick this on and off via the andriod box.

p.s. I'm unable to change the DNS servers on the router (well without going through the trouble of telnet).

Any decent VPN clients that offers free trials? I'd prefer to try before I buy
 
I'm an idiot and want to maybe start cord cutting. Is there a foolproof guide for getting this all installed OK on my Raspberry Pi? Main usage for it would be on demand stuff and that thing that happens on a 3pm on Saturday afternoons.
 
I set Kodi up on my Laptop last night. I've NOT extensively tested it yet. But have so far only had unwatchable buffering issues.

Oh and it doesn't like to be closed down. Takes an age
 
Right, got it installed on an RPi OK. Is there any addon which just has a set of live UK TV channels? Only reason I ask is I tried the PVR IPTV addon last night and the long list of channels under the same name/in Spanish bugged me a little bit.

Also do I need to resize the card after install? If so I do I go about getting to the terminal?
 
Rickjames could you give me a breakdown of exactly what you need and rough price for raspberry pi as a pvr. I'm looking into buying one for my sister as she is about to move house and doesn't want sky/Virgin but would also like to avoid a box and I was hoping to mount behind a tv. I've never used any Linux distributions before , is it simple and fairly maintenance free? She lives 3hrs away so I can't visit to troubleshoot. I want a rough idea whether it's a non starter

I've installed Gotham 13.2 and Aeon Nox on my NUC. I've made my smart playlists and they all point to the correct folder on the home page and work fine. I have playlists for single music videos and music dvds and I'd like to be able to play the single music videos randomly. If I choose party mode though it plays every music video randomly. Is there a way to do this for just the single music videos?
 
Not sure if this has been mentioned by anyone else recently, but I'm finding since a recent update, episodes of TV shows are being displayed in alphabetical order, not the order they should be in. Not sure if this has been happening since OpenElec 5.0 or a later update.

This only happens when scanning new TV shows or episodes. All episodes previous scanned to library display in the correct order.

If I go to 'Videos' then to the location of the episodes, they are labelled correctly with the episode name and number.

I've just come back into this thread because I had no email notifications and I already had the solution which is what you posted :D
The left and right arrows also FF/RW 1 minute on the Fire TV.
 
Having weird issues with library updates. When I perform one I get the library update bar in the top right hand corner and it gets stuck on updating "Lib64", which I do not have in my library, and then loads of weird TV programs have appeard that I've never even heard of let alone have on my server.
 
I recently made the move from Gotham to the latest build of Kodi/Helix.

All is fine barring a startling difference in the load time for fanart, strangely not during browsing my library, but during the rotating fanart on the home screen of any skin. I've tried various skins including Aeox Nox and Arctic. I'm left waiting seconds with a blank background every time it cycles to background fan art.

This is over NFS, using two WD Mybooklive devices, which have never had this issue before.

Can anyone help or at least sympathise?
