Does any one of you tech wiz's know how i can save streams to my xbmc video or movie library so i can just go to "videos" or "movies" and selected streams I've cherry picked sit there as though i have them on my hard-drive.

Thanks, so do you just download Gotham and install or turn off Aeon first, update then turn the skin back to Aeon?

Just install it and it will install over the top of Frodo, no need to turn the skin off.

When it installs Gotham it keeps some setup files for Frodo so if you need to you can just reinstall Frodo and all your settings will still be intact.

If you have your movies in named folders you could create a folder and just put what you want in there, when in XBMC on the movies tab just click down and you should see the option to choose the folder.

Or you could just add what you want to favourites and choose them from there.

It's not exactly a part of XBMC, but there's a supplementary app called XBMC.MyLibrary which appears as though it might do what you want :)

Openelec 4.0 running Gotham b3 is excellent on Rpi. With some tweaking of the cache I'm finally buffer free at 1080p over power line and samba. Woop!

It minimises if something else launches after it does. I solved this with a .bat that delayed the launch for a few seconds.

Guys,

I'm running Windows 7 on a Mac Mini and I leave it switched on with XBMC running 24/7. After a couple of days of XBMC running (and me watching the odd thing), the whole interface will become a little jerky when navigating around, and video playback will also become choppy. A simple close and re-open of XBMC will cure it and bring it back to being silky smooth.

Is this something that anyone has experienced before, or is it perhaps a Mac Mini-specific hardware/driver issue?

It's not really a big deal in any case.

Before anyone asks ( :p ), I'm running Windows instead of Mac OS because it seems more stable on the whole, using it for the purpose as described above.

XBMC on my Windows 8.1 machine appears to do the same (although I put it into standby most of the time when not using it) - a simple exit and re-start of XBMC puts the speed back as it should be.

I've seen a couple of things about this on the XBMC forum, but the same response has always been given - give us debug logs, which I've never got round to doing!

I'm going to anyway!

I've had no problems with the OS X version. Uptime measured in months with various other things running in the background on the same machine.

Ive been sorting out my media directory this evening and by mistake added a .jpg to the root music folder instead of the album folder it should have gone into.

Ive removed the .jpg in question but now when ever I click on any album the image shows up inside the album along side the correct album images that should be there.

Does anyone know how I can remove this image from every thing ?, ive removed the source and rescanned every thing but still this bloody image is in every folder :(

Is anyone having problems with scraping tv shows using the TVDB scraper? Not changed anything but it's not scraping shows. I use filebot to rename so not sure what's happening with the scraper.

Have just purchased a Sony Bravia KDL55W905 I've connected XBMC to it via UpNp although I can't seem to get 5.1 surround sound to output.

It a wireless connect and the optical out from tv goes to my home cinema amp!

I installed plex and to try and plex outputs 5.1 this way no problem.

Anyone know whats up?

Thanks

What settings do you have in the XBMC Audio settings?

I have tried each 'Audio' setting and only get standard sound. Just can't get 5.1 passed to my av receiver via upnp, works flawlessly via standard way optical cable and a hdmi form pc to tv... just cant get anything other than digital stereo sound from upnp connection. dam annoying:mad:!!

This is assuming you are using HDMI

Go to settings - system - audio output (make sure settings level at the bottom is advanced).
Audio output device set to WASAPI hemi
Out put configuration to best match
Enable pass through
Pass through device WASAPI hemi

Then Dolby digital capable and DTS capable receiver.

I went to watch my blue-ray rip of star wars today. I ripped it with the dts master audio and it wasn't displaying dts master on my amp which I thought was strange (I had never once noticed it because of where my amp used to be)
So I googled the settings and wow the difference was night and day.
Even tested the dark knight rises bane and batman first scene and it had never sounded so good

Can anyone help with a little request...

I have an Acer Revo with Frodo installed. The Acer Revo can only sleep and wake, obviously if I have it set to power of completely the external HP MCE remote receiver wouldn't pick up the turn-on command. That's fine. But... I often find when waking XBMC its either quite sluggish or doesn't wake my NAS or sometimes doesnt get an internet connection. All is resolved with a restart command and all works fine.

Given I have to do this everytime I wake the Acer, is there somehow a script or command that I can have set auto.

Something like; when wake, wait 5 seconds, then restart.

I'm assuming a small wait command would be needed to give a little time for XBMC to be come responsive after waking, before it can restart itself.

EDIT: found how to do it via SSH but was rather hoping for a add on where I can muck about with delays etc within xbmc gui
