A quick question regarding video quality. I'm running a Intel DC53427 NUC, which has the HD4200 graphics inside.
I'm currently using Openelec but was wondering would I see any benefit in video quality is I moved to Windows 8.1?
Are you aware there are amplifying + volume settings in xbmc ? Well there was in Frodo so I'm assuming there still is in Gotham,I haven't looked personally.
When you play a video bring up the audio window, settings are there
Just to update this thread.. Don't upgrade. I cant seem to get it to stick the resolution at 1080pIt just changes when I power off the system and you have to unplug, plug directly into the tv to get the hdmi handshake and then plug it back into the amp. Its as if the unit isn't constantly keeping the handshake information within the driver
Going back to the older version..
I can't figure out why my Yatse won't work. I reset the router and the ip address stayed the same on the Pi usually it changes when I do this because I haven't set a static ip.
It's in the audio settings when you play a movie.
It's not just the movie sounds that are low, the sound is low when you cycle through the menus as well. It's really bizarre cos it's just happened over the last couple of days. I know where the audio settings are when you play a movie but I've never had to use these before. I might do a rebuild as I've not done that for a while and see if that solves the problem.
So I am off to the USA in a few weeks and was thinking of picking up some hardware to set up as an XBMC/Streamer.
Do I go down the Ouya route or Fire TV? Or...a cheap NUC box?
Fire TV specs are good but I guess an NUC would give me more flexibility? What sort of spec NUC would I need?
Cheers for any advice
Anyone have any recommendations for solving buffering issues?
Laptop is an i7, 16GBmemory and dedicated graphics so is capable of playing HD files. Audio and graphic drivers are up to date, and laptop is connected via ethernet cable to router
