***Official Le Mans 24 Hours Thread***

I hope he recovers quickly, I don't think I could cope with just Georgie Thompson on the SkyPad for the F1 coverage

Could always give Chandhok a call, he's available after this weekend.
F1 history buff and an extremely likeable chap, also taller than Ant, so would make Georgie look even shorter. :D

Well done all the class winners, but in particular Starworks in LMP2 (Sebring and Le Mans winners in their debut year!) and AF Corse in GTE-Pro (rebuilding the car just in time to qualify after Fisi binned it, then driving from almost last to the win).

Edit - Team McKristello don't look that pleased to be on the podium ...

Oh well, right car wrong crew...

I wonder if the PR department at Ingolstadt has stopped collectively wetting itself, some of the formation flying shots from the last laps were spot on.

Definitely a shame that we lost Toyota earlyish, they were really keeping the Audi's honest at the start. Next year could be a different story.

Well done to Audi, shame it wasn't Alan McNish and the team though. IMO Toyota have shown huge potential for competing at this years at Le Mans, for a car that has been assembled within three months is massively impressive and they originally where only going to run one car.

2013 / 2014 are set to be good years for Le Mans as it seem like we will see the return of Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda.

Feeling a bit sore today, but generally just happy to be alive!

Completely agree.

Would have been interesting to see what the Toyota's would have been capable of. About 6 hours in they were definitely faster than the Audi's

GTE class was competitive as hell, early on with the Vette and the Aston switching places every lap, was just too thirsty in the end.

The new fuel regs could be quite interesting, but something needs to be done to the diesels before that. The Petrol LMP1's didn't really stand a chance.

The diesels have had an advantage for 5 or 6 years, I've no confidence in the ACO leveling the playing field any time soon.

Hopefully there will be more manufacturers in P1 soon meaning the private teams can go to P2 which sound like its going to be epic. Lots of customer chassis and engine combinations coming through at very reasonable prices.
