It's the modded server, can choose infected class, more fire damage, more tank health etc, good fun!

Add some of us via the L4D names thread and join in one day although most days now are BC2!

I joined the steam community group thing a while ago if thats any use lol. I saw an event thing on it the other day (mentioned it in this thread) but havent seen one since :(
 
Might be up for a game later if i haven't fallen asleep before then. 6 hours goes so slowly when your sat staring at nothing in manchester airport!

Unfortunately not enough people joined the 8v8 game so I've dropped the server for now and gave up. We may have more luck after The Passing is released however...

Still running the Insanity Versus server though. Complete list of changes (from the server's motd):

Insanity Versus:
General:
-No Mercy and Blood Harvest Installed

Survivors:
-Survivors now revive and heal faster
-Fire does 70% of expert damage
-Now have more health on revival
-Slowed by 15% in water

Infected:
-Ghost speed Increased
-Witch has double health, moves faster and does more damage
-Boomer Vomit delay removed
-Boomer can vomit when moving
-Boomer claw does more damage
-Smoker tongue range increased slightly, has more health and drags faster
-Hunter claw does more damage
-Max hunters=2
-Jockeys move faster
-Jockey Damage Delay Removed
-Chargers Charge further and do more max damage
-Tanks take longer to get frustrated
-Tanks take longer to Burn
-Tanks remain stunned for slightly less time when stunned by explosion
-Tanks health changed
-Can now select Infected class on spawn by pressing Reload button.
-2 tanks now appear at finale at a time
-Surprise at end of finale for survivors

nope post doesn;t start till tues day so mobo wont be here till wednesday :(


I have however put together the most bodged 939 system in the history of man with a 7600 gt and the ever useful "unlabled" RAM so maybe i could get l4d2 on the minimum settings working on that.

Nah just getting new mobo for my system, gonna leave updating to i7/whatever follows for a bit.

this bodge is for my dad because I've been using his pc (crappy dell) and it's ****ing terrible the ps3 is faster at loading webpages and doesn;t slow down when you open more than one.


just think i'm going to copy l4d2 onto it/plug in my hdd (and the old 40gb ps3 hdd it's currently using tilll my dad backs up his stuff and it uses his hdd) from mine and see if it runs from thier :p

so gimme 30 or so mins and i might be online :D


I don;t think a single 256 7600gt will render 1920x1200 though :o

may have to play on the crt/lower ress >.<
 
amd x64 x2 @ 2.01 GHz.

Don't want to oc it as the heatsink fan fell apart the toher day so i cut a 80 mm fan out of a normal case fan and omounted it on it :o

justhaving to install the audio drivers i ncompatability mode then should have sound trying to get steam to run from other hdd but it's doing updating then closing
 
10 mins to dl sound drivers because aprently DFI are too cheap to dl any faster than 45 kbs :/


tried using a second 7600 in sli but the board just wont recognise it.

moved all the jumpers (no software switch 6 blocks of 10 jumpers need swaping to get sli on :p)

that shouldn't be too bad actually :)
 
My 6800gs just about managed 1080x764 (whatever it actually is) just about, with all settings on low. so your 7600 should be ok. An overclock would improve things! Sure higher settings are shinier, but don't really add anything to the game. Who cares if the chrome shotgun actually looks like chrome?
 
Fantastic, first time I get round to playing on a LTI server and I got banned 30 seconds after picking up a weapon on the map. :rolleyes:

Surely my luck can't be that bad?

You either:

Got a "No Steam Logon" error (Not a ban)
Were kicked due to stealing someones spot (Not a ban)
VAC banned for hacking (not a LTI ban)


If you were actually banned from the server for no reason, I would be surprised

Was kicked from the server, thought something odd had happened (dont hack or spam and was the 2nd/3rd person in the lobby so cant have stolen someone's place) so I reconnected. It gave the message 'steam id xxxxx banned'. I gave it 15 minutes, tried again with the same message then called it a day. :(
