**** Official LG G4 Discussion Thread ****

My G4 is repaired and waiting for me at my local Vodafone store. Pick it up tomorrow.

Gutted I have lost all my data on the phone.

According to the repair info they just replaced the main board/PCB.

Three are having a laugh now, LG released MM for sim-free G4's nearly 4 months ago!!! Taking the micky now tbh.

My brothers Z5 was updated to MM early March, it supports VoLTE on Three's network so i don't think that is an issue any longer.

Week later not heard a peep and tracking number don't work. Will give them a few days as it was easter but some confirmation of receipt would be nice.

2 weeks, had an email stating repair has been cancelled, rang up and they said it was an internal error and not to worry, repair is going ahead. No time frame as on when.

quite disappointed tbh.

So far so good with my G4, mine was manufactured in May and has a serial number beginning with 505 which means it was made in May 2015. Apparently the most affected serial numbers are those with serial numbers beginning with 503-506. :(

Had it since early November so i hope it doesn't fail. Most of the failures seems to be happening within 3 - 4 months from reading around XDA and reddit. I would walk straight into a Three store and demand they sort it out, if they refused i would just kick up a fuss in the store. My device is over 6 months old now so i'd have to be willing to wait 30 days for them to get it repaired. LG should just recall the affected batches.

EE 20A Firmware

Anyone got an EE branded LG G4 running 20A with WiFi calling available with root access? Mine was an unbranded handset, so flashed the KDZ above and edited /dev/block/mmcblk0p22 to the values below. As given over at XDA but instructions were for 10K, so maybe this is a problem?

Restarted the phone and got the option in the call menu, but no Wifi Calling :(

In the hidden menu [*#546368#815#] and I get 'not supported' if trying to look at the IMS or switch VoLTE on or off, is this right?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Mine happened yesterday and I have my 505 since launch.
INterestingly it happened within a few days of me sending my s7 off for repair. Dont think it liked coming out of hibernation.

Also felt VERY VERY slow compared to the S7, which while it may be slightly expected it was a concerning amount. Which makes me think it was goings slowly.

Mine finally came back yesterday (just over 3 weeks). had a new mainboard for the wifi issue.

As I had bought a phone in the meantime I just sold it on. Great camera + battery, few issues with wifi/boot loop are offputting but at £225 cant really moan.

So is the g4 still a good option at around the £200 mark second hand?
Would a unit with a serial number of 603 be new enough to be safe from bootloop failures?
Advice from owners appreciated.

Mine being collected tomorrow to repair the boot loop. No dramas but seems pretty common and never RMAd a HTC phone in 7 years, this lasted 6 months.

Someone over at XDA has ported the v10 camera app to our G4. With excellent results for us not rooted :)
60fps at 1080 recording and ultra HD recording too, as well as manual control over video capture.

For anyone after manufacturing info, I've found this app ideal, my G4 was manufactured in August last year and has been faultless up to now :)
