*** Official Mass Effect 2 Thread ***

I went with default. Currently wearing the Collector Armour since the Blood Dragon and Inferno seem more beneficial to Tech/Biotics than Soldier.

taking agesssss to install even on my SSD only times like this makes me wish i had an internal SATA DVD drive rather than my external USB one.

Taken the day off to play this jsut installed the first mass effect and recovered my old saves just incase i can continue anythign from the origianl game.

Just finished the main storyline on veteran, after getting all of the squad members and gaining all of their loyalty. It took about 24 hours, which is quite a bit longer than it took me to get to the same stage in Mass Effect. I didn't bother changing any of my armor or weapons, which probably made the game even more difficult, but the challange was refreshing. I found playing as an adept a hell of a lot more fun than I did in the original game; looking forward to trying out the infiltrator next!

About two hours in and without giving away spoilers, absolutely epic game. It beats the first one in my opinion. It's hard for me to write a review without reaching for spoilers, but I can highly recommend anyone to play this game. It takes a nice twist the first 10min and it only gets better.

One negative is wrestling with Steam to make it work. I had to go into the Steam folder and run it from there. For some reason it doesn't launch from 'My Games' list in the Steam UI.

=/ I was expecting it to last longer. Did you do all the sidebits etc?

At one point, I was struggling to understand how I'd get paragon points for threatening to break somebody's legs.

Teenie tiny spoiler:

Mordin's quest has some of the best interactions in any game. I won't give any details but the 'acting' is superb.

No. All I did was aquire all of the squad members, do their quests, and then did the main storyline. In Mass Effect, this took about 12 hours. I didn't even bother with any upgrades other than the essentials - to go into any further detail would require "spoilers", so I'll leave it at that.

I'm a bit confused. There are two screenshot folders under Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect 2, but there seems to be no option for a screenshot key ingame or otherwise. I would rather not use fraps, but it seems like there is no alternative.

My only issue is that the mouse feels a bit sluggish - can't see any way of adjusting the sensitivity.

I did wonder at one point if they'd gone for a "weighted" aiming system, like they do in games like ARMA...but I think this is just sluggish ;) Can't see any .ini file to alter mouse sensitivity either...

I'm having the opposite problem that quite a few people on the official forums are suffering from - sensitivity is through the roof. Even with the camera set to low and my mouse turned down to it's lowest dpi, the camera is more sensitive than I'd ever normally use. Turning all the mouse options to their lowest actually makes the mouse pointer in the menu screens too slow though. They need a wider range of sensitivity options, as well as separate camera panning/menu pointer sliders.

It's actually a nice breath of fresh air to have an Australian doing a voice! Makes a change from toff Brits and the Yanks.

I am loving the game, i am about 7 hours in and taking my time exploring and stuff. I agree with the person who said about about exploring the planets, its something i miss as well. However i can see why they have done it, they have spent less time on that and more time on the missions on the combat which was the right move imo.

Plus miranda is just so boneable i dont usally say that about video game Characters, but she is hot plus theres a lot of sences and stuff with her where the camara seems to focus on her ass ( or maybe thats just me looking at it). Its kinda like the game devs want you to get with her.

Oh and morden is awesome hes so funny i take him on almost every mission just to hear his remarks. Its also funny to liaten to the banter between the a.i and joker.

The only thing i dont like is the Elusive Man, bit of a rubbish name if you ask me but hopefuly that will become more clear towards the end of the game.

Loving this game. Almost every aspect has improved from ME1 (not that ME1 was bad, thoroughly enjoyed that too). Chosen Vanguard this time, missing some of the guns a soldier can carry thogh :( - will just have to play again using solider class.

Anyone know any good plantets for mining element zero - can find everything else in abundance apart from that.
