I can't see any logic to the download sizes. When the UK/Ireland WU came out last week we were having one of our group fly-ins in the evening. So of course we were all sat there waiting for out updates to complete. Nearly every one of us had a different size ( all in the 20+GB range ), or different number of files ( around 165-175 ). Strangely I have Deluxe Premium and my update size was smaller then one chap who had the mid tier product yet I had more files.

To compound this I installed MFS2020 on to a new PC over the weekend, the initial download was 154GB. I went to bed with it still running. However a comfort break was required so I checked to see how it was doing. It had 'finished' that but when I checked the Content Manager there were 61 files to update, 22GB in size. I haven't checked but I thought the foot print of the game once installed is not much over 100GB, certainly not 154. I will check that tonight when I turn it on again.
 
Just flown over london, aside from key landmarks the map was totally flat, like 2d buildings, is this a conflict with the Orbix london addon or something else?
 
So if I'm told to land on runway 23 L does the L mean I land on the runway to the left on approach if there are two on the same heading? That's what I've been doing but not sure if that's correct or not.
 
Yes AIUI, 23 L is runway 23 Left. You'll only get told this when there are 2 parallel runways. Sometimes this may not be obvious as the 2nd runway may be grass, although that might be cleared to land 23 grass. Not an expert I'm afraid.

im guessing i fly to edge of boundry and it has to go look up more scenery then HANG

Update: stuck another 16gb ram in (32 total) and this issue seems to have gone now

Total ram use after playing for 20 mins was ... 16gb so must have been right on that boundary and causing the hang when it went over
 
I admit defeat and have just bought some Hyper X ram to go with my G Skill, same timings and voltage so hoping it works. The game runs under 20fps with 16gb ram since the new update with higher quality UK imagery.

You can also turn off the VFR map when in game from the dropdown menu at the top, that should also provide a couple of extra fps.
 
So got 32gb ram, FS2020 using nearly 25gb ram and over London still doing 15-20fps? It's like the extra 16gb ram hasn't really done anything.

Is it because London is ‘loading in’ via your router?

Since the update London seems to fluctuate between 45 and then 15-20fps for me.
