**** Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Thread ****

Just started my update, it seems to be capped at 255 Mbits/s for me on the larger files. I'm using vodafone full fibre

Apparently, the new advice it to turn off the rolling cache if your internet speeds is around 100-150mb, so it should help with the small stutters, not sure about hangs you're having.

I didn’t think about internet connections!
Wife was streaming I-player child 2 was on PlayStation and streaming you tube on his PC and child 1 was working so on line too so that might have had something to do with it!! London was ok this morning so I was perplexed why the Cheshire plains were stuttering

London looks like the Luftwaffe got there before me! At least until a few passes and my modem catches up and the buildings go from that bombed out look to lovely and pristine! I’ve set a 150gb cache file so.....

quite a few a few more passes to do!

Ran like a dog for me. Had a strange one in london where the key buildings looked fine, but the housing estates nearby were just flat.

can’t say I’m impressed.

I think there are some serious issues streaming in the photogrammetry at full detail at the moment, despite my connection being fine (about 50-60mbps) I get warnings about insufficient bandwidth for photogrammetry flying over london and memory usage is insane compared to other photogrammetry cities. Unfortunately can't do a manual cache either to check that out as it causes CTD every time (known issue with this patch).

I’ve noticed that if you cancel the IFR plan with ATC, then retry it, it actually works and the ATC is vectoring me in properly with all the correct altitudes.

Tried to re map the joystick (Airbus) so the little toggle switch at the top is used for control of the pitch trim but it just will not work, I select the input ,clear it save it as pitch up etc then save and exit and it reverts back to camera.

Also the keyboard will also not register any inputs for it using num 1&7 to trim.

Only way I can adjust is using the mouse and adjusting in the cockpit view but the plane is all over attempting it this way.

You don’t use pitch trim in the Airbus unless you’re having a really, really bad day...

edit - or do you mean it isn’t working for any aircraft using the Airbus stick?

When you assign the buttons in settings, are you making sure to clear current input before selecting the new button and validating? If you just choose your required button and press validate, it will not clear the current setting.

I’ve got the airbus side stick and have remapped with zero issues.

I've tried that without any success unfortunately.

Enjoying the new update but its not perfect ! I did notice they have updated all the coastline heights now & the Jurassic coastline looks great only issue is you can see it popping in and being loaded. I might reload the area and see what that does.

Bristol is currently my favorite area and they they did great with that but not so sure about the cars driving across air next to where the Clifton suspension bridge is. Moving London eye is cool.

The whole car thing is somewhat broken, I flew over my parents house only to see it had been converted into a block of flats with very heavy traffic going directly over the flats!

Sure it’s not perfect, but it’s amazing what they’ve managed to do at the scale they’ve done it... even as low as 500ft it looks generally stunning everywhere, occasional glitches aside.

I think we ultimately need to remember it’s a flight simulator and not a walking simulator, it’s best enjoyed with a little altitude!

That said, I’ve been amazed by some extended low level flights across the countryside in the MB-339, just need some cows and sheep to liven up the experience now... pull up if you see a bovine!
