In this day and age, I’m surprised they can’t make a consumer level model for flight sim with a retail of £200-£300. They’d sell like crazy at that price.


Flip me, that's half a real PPL A. May as well get a licence.

If you are into flying the big birds, you could join a Virtual Airline too. Some of them such as BAVirtual and Delta Virtual are excellent.

Well, as I've just had it confirmed I can't play any sport for 2-3 months I've gone and bought a Rift to keep me occupied. Looking forward to giving some MSFS a whirl later.

Did you have to pay import duty & customs fee?
Most of my Aviatek gear was actually purchased pre-brexit. Only the MFD panel was purchased afterwards, at a cost off just under 1700 Euros and £307GBP import and fees once it landed.

I still have the centre Audio panel to get, so I'll be paying import on that too eventually.

Although its not in the picture, I also already have the AV GCU 475 - the small FMS Keyboard panel.

We performed some optimization for the initial full download of the title so the base game is only 83GB instead of +170GB

NAVIGATION
  • New AIRAC cycle 2105 has been implemented
  • FAA data has been implemented to our navdata solution
  • Departure gates are now saved in flight plan (.PLN) files
  • Fixed a crash and other issues when selecting a parking space as arrival and no set departure
  • Fixed some Live Air Traffic aircraft using the wrong model
  • Fixed an issue where some Live Air Traffic aircraft had broken callsigns
  • Increased the density of Live Air Traffic
  • Aircraft that are not on the ground but that have an altitude of zero will now appear at a default altitude of 5000m
  • Live traffic stability has been improved
  • ATC phraseology improvements to FAA standards (wording only)
WEATHER
  • Reduced weather data bandwidth
  • Improved precision of live snow coverage
  • “Visual Effect Only” in assistance now does properly deactivate other weather effects
  • “Visual Icing” has been renamed “Icing” in the devmode because it impacts the whole icing system
  • “Icing” in DevMode only changes visual effects if “Visual Effect Only” is activated
  • Ice constant decay is no longer ignored outside of frost conditions
  • Accelerated pitot icing model while making it slower to defrost
  • Fixed pitot icing not scaling with the number of instruments
  • Fixed overspeed controller vibrations not affected by pitot icing

PLANES
All planes:

  • Added altitude interception for PITCH HOLD mode

  • Autopilot no longer flies toward a Waypoint removed from the FlightPlan
  • SimConnect injected traffic (VATSIM, IVAO) should now be displayed in HTML/JS instruments that have traffic displays as well as on the VFR Map
  • Fixed simvar acceleration not taking impacts into account and returning wrong values on ground
  • Writing back corrected acceleration values after impact resolutions so that they are exact when pulled as a simvar

  • You may crash when exiting VR mode. This issue is being investigated but we suspect OpenXR preview runtime (v106) may be involved. So if you experience this problem, we recommend you revert to the official public runtime (v105).

I think the way it previously worked was downloading the original base game, then all the changes on top. They have now basically just updated the initial download to a more up to date version.

Install size itself is unchanged.

Hey all, I use FS2020 whilst sat on my couch mostly controlling with an XBOX controller and keyboard.
The keyboard is an all-in-one keyboard and trackpad for media pc's. The Logitech K400
The thing is I can't seem to find a way to zoom in and out of the globe in flight simulator which is a problem.
Does anyone know a way around this?

**fixed the above using two fingers up/down on the trackpad to zoom in/out**

Hi guys

So today I purchased Gamepass for PC and installed Xbox App and FS2020. The game is installed in D:/ (Samsung 960 EVO 1GB)

Medium Settings: with AA and Motion Blur OFF
Live Air Traffic

Playing on 2560 x 1440 144Hz

My specs are as follows:

[email protected] (Adaptive Mode)
64GB DDR4 3800MHz
GTX 970 Stock speed

When running the game I was getting 11-13FPS and the following message: "Limited by Main Thread".

I opened up HWinfo and noted CPU was at default speed of 1.2GHz. CPU-Z was also showing same speed of 1.2GHz.
It appeared that game load was not forcing CPU to turbo boost to 4.7GHz. However when stress testing CPU with y-cruncher the CPU immediately went to 4.7Ghz. :confused:

The result was same even if I change CPU affinity to high.

Please can someone help me with this issue?

Hi,

The game is full of optimisation issues unfortunately, a lot of them are MS side, not really a lot we can do about it from this end, you might also be a bit limited by your Graphics card.

People with top end systems with RTX3080s are struggling.

You've set power settings to full performance?

perhaps try in nvidia control panel ---> manage 3d settings ---> program settings -----> Microsoft flight simulator try setting the power management mode to "prefer max perf"
