Good news, did that sort out the sfp issue.
Actually not quite, i need to get a sfp transiever that does 100mb as my printer only does that lmao.

Anyways another qery i have below:

I am trying to setup pihole on my RB5009 mikrotik router using this guide:

However, when i try to access the pihole via http:192./168.88.2:888 it geta 403 forbidden error.

I followed basically every step in that video and the only difference is that my RB5009 router's local IP is 192.168.88.2 instead of the default 192.168.88.1.

the container is running.

The bridge is set to use the veth1.

NAT was added and also DNS set to 172.17.0.2 as per the guide on that video and also on here https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/Container#Container-Summary

im unable to start the pihole container. click start and nothing happens in the winbox ui and i even tried doing /container start 0 and no errors etc shows up. However, when type /container print, the pihole container did not start and still in stopped state

eidt: fixed it, i rebooted and started it again and can access it via http://192.168.88.2:888/admin/

However, now my unify controller container cant start.

Cant i start and run two containers?

Impressed with the RB5009 so far, coming from a mainly Cisco and Aruba OS/CX background the cli is taking some getting used to. Functionality-wise, the ability to run containers is excellent. Had an issue updating to 7.8, broke all my containers so have rolled back to 7.7.
The containers in my rb5009 stopped working and so i gave up on that feature. All i wanted to run was pinhole and unify controller container

I see people moaning about port flapping etc.. but it always seems to be a zin-zap version or whatever hence why I asked the question. Knowing this stuff moving forward would be a great saver and advantage as speeds and needs get faster and faster.
There's a tech channel called home to serve I think and they did a series of tests on different sfp transceivers and 9/10 of the ones they tested work

Hi, i have noticed that the speeds of my internet has slowed down a lot.

I am supposed to be getting aroun 900mb/s upload and download, however i only get at average, 10mb/s

After doing some digging arouund, i notice that my public IP that my ISP provides seems to be located in amsterdam( I am based in the UK)

I then double checked if there was some sort of VPN that was activated on my pc but there is not.

Whats strange is that if i do enable vpn(i have express VPN client on my pc) and point it towards a uk vpn, i get near enough 600-800mb/s speeds.....

Here is my configuration file that i have exported from my router
https://pastebin.com/AZxZeyVM

I double checked the settings under PPP in winbox and i dont see any vpn setup there..

I am currently with Community fibre and my RB5009 is connected to the fibre modem via the 2.5gb ethernet 1 port that acts as the WAN port.

The next thing i can try is to use the ISP's router(its a linksys one) and see if i am still getting a huge loss on the internet speed.

It seems as though something is connecting it to a vpn?!?! but what and why so slow?

It was a isp issue. They assigned me a wrong ip address
