** Official Oblivion Story / Help Thread **

Anyone found any good weapons yet? Ive got a dremora shield (looks like a daedric tower from morrowind) but need a good 1h to go with it (still using silver longsword at lv 8 lol)

I saw theres a glass longsword in the fighters guild house in cheywhateveritscalled but its a hard lock and I dont wanna get bad rep with them lol

Ideas?

How do you buy houses, i've found a few for sale dotted around. They always say "needs a key", but i can never find the person that sells the house. Do you have to go to a certain play to buy them or is it just some random person that you need to speak to.

In bruma you can buy house if you talk to the countess whos on her throne thing in the castles main room. She wont talk with you unless you have a good disposition with her though.

Just found 1 HELL of a ring and set of gauntlets:

ring = base ring of shadows - chameleon 20% on self - constant effect (predator mode LOL)
Gauntlets - gauntlets of the forge - heavy armour - fortify armourer 10 pts on self - constant effect

lovely and unexpected :D

Truly pays off to search dungeons etc which are on the way to objectives :)

AHHHH im doing the quest where you gotta find who stole the countess's painting, i've got clues off all the suspects, and now found the painting stuff in someones room but have no idea what to do next

anyone done that?

EDIT - done it at last

How do you recharge magical items? I can't get my head around these soul stone things - can you pay someone to do it or learn to do it yourself?

I'm stuck on the second mission of the Fighter's Guild the one in the shop where you have to kill the three guys...

My swordfighting in general seems to be pap, I hack away at people for ages before they go down. I'm using a Blades Katana and I'm an apprentice with Blades. Any tips?

cant remember the city name, the one with the paranoid fellow, S something

goto the Alchmeist store and talk about "rumours" with the woman, she asks about necrophelia charges LOL

Ask her if its her first

im doing the paranoid mission to but it seems a bit slow, not sure if im meant to spend all day following the people

Did this last night. Don't think it's 'all' day, but the first one at least during normal working hours, the second until something is mentioned that makes you think "ah ha!", and the third doesn't take that long at all.

It's a good mission, I enjoyed that one.

Valka stones or something found deep in dungeons recharge magical items. The small version bigging with W which are all over most dungeons recharge mana iirc. If the games like morrowind you can recharge items with soulgems as well when you capture a creature inside it and use it on your item (havent tried this yet though)

Sword fighting is quite hard due to proper blocking and parry now. I usually use my shield and wait for the enemy to attack then hold down my primary attack to get a powerful hit when they recoil. If you hit them it does a lot of damage but its hard to time and aim -.- Bashing the button doesnt work at all ive found, much better to charge a hit up and aim instead lol

Here's me, a fwendly puddy tat!

I've been playing three hours, and literally all I've done is go down into the dungeons below the ruins that you come across immediately after exiting the sewers at the start. For my troubles, and a whole lot of traps and deadies, I've come into possession of the Varla stone (see pic) - anyone got any ideas what it does?!

Oh, I'm a thief by the way.
