I know what you mean, couldn't sleep last night and i'm currently running on sugar and caffeine. Amleto has me beat i think now

Good old chess blindness, doesn't just affect me then. Can last for weeks or even months, but I do think it's part of the learning process.

I am also interested in the phenomenon of a collective chess consciousness, particularly in blitz chess, where for some reason on a particular day, practically every opponent will play the same opening. Very, very bizarre.

You want to see chess blindness check out my move at 20 in this game. All I could see was - mate the king - mate the king - and well I took the bishop!

Is it just me or is everyone seeming to play the Albin counter-gambit. d4 d5 c4 e5. Now to me it just doesn't seem good but an awful lot of people are playing it against me - is there some new line or something that says it aint quite as bad as it first appears to be?
