****Official OcUK Fury X Review Thread****

DM just squirmed in his seat.

^^ Potentially quite a bit of money to be made (albeit risky - should things get really bad and they never recover) over the next little while with AMD - their share price is likely to bottom out over the next 9 months but they are likely to do quite well come sub 20nm planar.

I wish everyone would stop rambling on about how drivers will improve this card and blah blah. I'm wanting to know why the drivers right now today suck. Look at the specs of it compared with the 390x and it's what 15% faster.
At £450I'd be stoked to get one of these but £510 when the 980ti is at a similar price, no way. Also £650 is a joke, anyone buying at that price has to be out of their mind.

Agreed, another good thing about the Fury X is drivers that don't cause web browser to crash or black screens in games. AMD is way ahead of Nvidia right now in that respect.

There have been many Nvidia drives this year, I'm still waiting for one that doesn't cripple my PC. Currently stuck on 350.12.

I'm sure Nvidia will fix it though (Hopefully) soon.

The driver thing is a very good point. Nvidia has big problems in this regard at present. I haven't even played a game in a couple of weeks and I have had usage spikes and TDR's just with mild browsing and the occasional youtube video on both my Titan X and 970 systems.

Buy me a Fury X and I will test it then the case can be rested.

agree it needed to be £100 cheaper.

too many reviews have the Fury X at below the 980TI, but only just, to me the card is therefore a success.

i'm guessing these reviews are about right, the problem AMD has is that the TX/TI overclock like crazy, the Fury X does not...............this opens the gap far wider

does it............my TX hasn't crashed once since i've had it, it handles Youtube easily, it's by far the most reliable card i've ever had

Still in stock, i think they'll be there a while now, as everyones read the reviews.

Those who bought the 6 here, have probably already cancelled, or swapped to Tis.

I'll be buying nvisit 980ti.
has a big victory AMD had one shot to make it right I was set on buying g the fury x. But all we got was a rebranded 290x and furyx which is overpriced considering the lack of hdmi 2 and ram. Sli is far better then crossfire and ncidia cards hold their value better.

Fury X is £509 to £649, the £649 is a total waste of time and £509 is also too high, it would be a perfect card at £440

Its due to new tech called HBM.
the 390x wasnt altered much from the 290 so drivers could be written and updated with all the 2 year knowledge behind them.
The Fury is new in that regard and then it takes time to write first solid stable driver and once that has happen then performance hunt starts.
Its the same for any company that changes their arc and tech.

I thought that was common knowledge myself.

I'm not so sure people will cancel - I'd personally go for a Ti were I picking between these two today, but at the same time it's close in performance & got potential. We've no idea how it'll respond to more volts etc and it's quieter than a Ti. Paired with a freesync screen and you're getting some cost savings there. It's not the mind-blowing card many were hoping for but it's still got advantages of it's own.

Edit: Though, having said that, I was forgetting the OCUK in-stock price... was thinking of the prices others were reporting, quite a big difference.

The "instock premium" of nearly £150 is not worth it at all.

If the Fury X was out before the 980Ti was launch , then I can understand the premium as the only alternative was the £800-£900 Titan X...but with 980Ti already around, it make no sense whatsoever.
