****Official OcUK Fury X Review Thread****

The fury x needs to be sub £500 now for me to consider it! While it's priced above £500 its right on the heels of 980Ti price/performance ratio which to me makes me want to get the 980Ti for the extra memory and we all know 980Ti overclocks like a beast! At the moment we don't know if the Fury x overclocks well or not but i'm not holding my breath now.

Unless it overclocks well then this card could be considered a good card combined with a water cooling solution so it runs cool and quiet and overclocks well. Then yes it could be good at the current price. If it doesn't overclock well then welp... just cool and quiet lol. We could see good performance gains from drivers as we all know once AMD finally get a couple releases down the line in drivers you get good gains. But yet once again yet to be seen.

All in all at the moment the 980Ti looks more favorable and this is coming from some one who has owned mostly ATi/AMD cards. Sorry AMD but i'm slightly disappointed at this point.

seriously?
it beats the 980ti with early drivers and new arc of tech in games and resolution I play so its a win IMO.:D

Its easy to be negative it seems for many but checking the facts indicate for me a perfect card for my use that nothing nvidia can offer me seems like a big win to me. What can I say?

Fury rocks:)

Reading your posts I'm absolutely convinced that you're a secret Nvidia troll out to bring AMD and their fans into further disrepute with such unabashed nonsense.

I thought you were just crazy, now it appears you're just delusional.

Nice coincidence that the card somehow only wins in the games you play at your resolution

Where does it beat the Ti?

Plus then there is this:

I rest my case:D

The problem is the TI is pretty cheap itself...........£510 and will OC like flipping crazy

the Fury X needs to be about £450 ...............not a lot else you can say really

Nvidia offers a far better value proposition, at almost every market price point.

Basically: No they don't.

I was hoping FuryX was going to be faster than it is - doesn't mean it's a flop or that HBM is useless. Wasn't going to buy one anyway so am really not worried either way, just the sooner new tech comes along to beat out old then the sooner better performance will come to the price range I do buy at.

Dosent quite Own it though does it? or did you mean on another game?

He's quite clearly cherry picked that graph, other sites the difference is nowhere near that and some even show the 980ti winning in BF4 at 4k.

NH is the only site I have some trust in in regards to bench and testing (Graph is from them).
you can argue all you want but Fury beats the 980ti.

Dont be sad go buy a 980ti and enjoy windows 10 gaming later.;)

Buy me a Fury X and I will test it then the case can be rested.

agree it needed to be £100 cheaper.

Ah so another coincidence that the only site you trust supports your argument. Fury X does not beat the 980ti.

I won't be buying either, already own the GOAT

Seriously what's wrong with overclocking? With watercooling, and what Macri said in inverview, that this is designed to be overlocked. Tbh I was expecting 1400 clocks atleast.

How about this:

Techreport said:
you'll generally experience smoother gameplay in 4K with a $499 GeForce GTX 980 than with a $649 Fury X

or does it not matter to you, as long as one site shows fps advantage on one game?

I was just genuinely curious as i thought i had missed something by you saying the 980ti got owned :)

the one bit i read said the tools to overclock were lacking
we will have to see what 8pack says about that! ^^;

i think Fury X has done well !

it's either 2% down (TI) or 5% down (TX) I'd say for a brand new card that's pretty good.........dont forget that the TX is a true monster and just about the best Nvidia could come up with 6 months ago....

the price of Fury X is now critical ..........i dont need to know its price right now, but if i was AMD i'd be dropping it a lot because if it's dropped far enough it'll sell loads...........i like the card from the other side i think it looks great.

Agreed, another good thing about the Fury X is drivers that don't cause web browser to crash or black screens in games. AMD is way ahead of Nvidia right now in that respect.

There have been many Nvidia drives this year, I'm still waiting for one that doesn't cripple my PC. Currently stuck on 350.12.

I'm sure Nvidia will fix it though (Hopefully) soon.
