You have now changed the context here for your argument, now he is dissapointed without you even know if he is or not. You then continue to assume that is true for an AMD rep that inclusion of semantics is really to create a truth that does not exist except in your mind and then trying to convince others it then must be.
I buy Fury for 3 criterions, one is smoothness which means latency and that will be better with HBM and also later with windows 10. Next criteria I use are can the card give me the grunt for fps I want for my set up and it can as the bandwidth here allows that to happen. My third criteria is, I never buy old tech if new tech has come out and with the HBM now sits with Fury its perfect for me. It can only become better.
You seen Boom play games being positive, he have lot of other cards and so on but whatever he says can then not be trusted according to you as he will either be lying or deciving as he might be dissapointed also?
Imagine all the nonsense I read here from people who really shouldnt write stuff like they do.
Either it can throw pixles around faster than a 980 ti or it can't...
The tech bit doesn't matter.

Fair enough but what you did say was very similar to the old school belief that some have that memory usage should be minimal or if not, it's use is not optimised, hence, just clarifying that it doesn't need to be
.my thoughts exactly, had it been quicker than current cards, used HDMI tech that wasn't from 2009 (HDMI 2.0) then I would have bought one for my other PC, as it happens I am off to OcUK today to purchase a 980ti
Making a better product than the one they had before is doing exactly that and that's how the majority of business operate.

I wouldn't be wary at all with two cards, simply for the fact that I'm seeing noticeably lower Video Memory usage at 4K using the FuryX.
Check this out, smooth 50-60fps gameplay playing GTA V maxed out with MSAA at x4 and look how much video memory usage 3663MB.
It's amazing what can be done when you improve video memory utilisation at driver level.
Shadow of Mordor with the High Res Texture pack plays nicely too and what does that use 6.5GB of GDDR5 at 4K?
Interestingly with three TX I can maintain 60fps no problem yet there you are at 52.1
And yes that is with 4XMSAAGTAV has excellent buffer management anyway, Mordor is a much better example above. Some frametime data wouldn't go a miss either

I'm sorry but you clearly have no idea at all when it comes to VRAM usage
You can't possibly be comparing rivatuner's numbers (which are almost useless I might add) between 8GB and 4GB cards and saying that it has something to do with new driver level optimizations?

Three TITAN X at 4K with 4XMSAA is around 5.3GB, so it is substantially higher. Show us some frametime data from Shadow Of Mordor, Matt. Should be pretty definitive. Around 5 to 10 minutes of game time
TBH, yes, it's not really a comparative at all when the frame buffer size varies.

He's not lying but he never factored in the 290x 8gb using more Vram because it can with 8gb. Titan X owners more than often make out you need insane amounts of Vram because there 12gb cards use loads.
