****Official OcUK Fury X Review Thread****

A decent set of drivers and voltage control should see Fury X looked upon more favourable when the Aio is factored in with the price. This should all have been ready for release as AMD have now tarred it with a not so good card moniker in a lot of people's minds.

If they can get better drivers and voltage control software out then it's a no brainer purchase :)

Is the main reason everyone finds it disappointing, and expected more, because its been nearly 2 years since they released a high end card, so people are thinking, 2 years, thats a long time between cards, it should be annihilating Nvidia, they've released 4x in that time unanswered ?

Its competing with the Ti, wins some, loses some, thats good enough for me.

Pretty much loses most. Good overall package though.

it only adds value if you wanted a AIO in the first place
i wouldnt mind one aslong as its quiet
be nice to see more AMD cards have 0db at idle
sapphire cooler is capable
msi's most likely is too
guess depends where your pc is if you find this stuff important^^;

Only problem for me is the high idle noise in comparison to its competitors. Can you turn the fan down? I like my system to be pretty much silent for watching movies etc (that's why the Gigabyte was a better option for me atm) :)

I'm sure others would love to know this!!

You can control the fan in MSI Afterburner. It's silent at stock, but you can do that if you wanted.

Apparently it's slightly noisier at load than the ref 980Ti which is a *tad* too loud for me (can't go below 22% fan on that). G1 turns off so that suits me :cool:

So you can def reduce the fan speed from the bios set limit? What does it go down to m8? (and what is it normally set to, 15%?)

I find that very hard to believe that the fury would be louder than the ref ti, i've a typhoon fan on my 295x and its very quiet even at load and thats on a rad cooling 2 gpu's that on air get upto 95c, as opposed to 1 gpu that has something like 25c of headroom before it throttles.

Possibly they're talking about the pump whine, without that the card would be very quiet.

Bloody pump whine :mad:

Yeah, looks to be a powerful unit! Maybe OTT? If I got it I'd be switching cards til I got a quiet one :D

G1 is ideal for me, no coil whine and fans switch off at idle. Perfection :cool:

(although I can certainly appreciate the Fury's positives, it's gonna be a stormer once DX12 hits imo)

Got a sweat on now hoping mine has no whine, also got a second on preorder. :eek:

Maybe not on release but the 290x certainly is beating the original Titan now.

Maybe so mate but if this ends up being same with the Fury x do we have to wait at least 6 months before we see this sorta thing happen? Most people who are waiting to upgrade will be waiting on Pascal by this time. We need to see performance drivers ASAP if they are coming and voltage unlocked too.

This beast needs derestricting lol.

Maybe, but pretty much all the reviews reflect this chart;

Well not really

It seems some people have had issues with the pump running at 100% non stop or something which seems to generate a lot of noise? Maybe this is what that reviewer was getting in the results. It seems to be a identified issue which is being fixed by AMD.

Well its not the same as someone else already showed the 290x competing with the Titan on release.
