****Official OcUK Fury X Review Thread****

Here are many reports of Fury X coil whine coming from Sapphire.

Affected owners started RMA process to return Fury X cards for replacements, they probably will be wait for a long time.

They are all made by amd right? So it's just a coil whine lottery and not dependant on brand?

It seems that some dont know the difference between Coil whine and pump noise/whine even though the link clearly states pump noise.

It's seems to be coping well with anything I've thrown at it.

A couple of glitches where slight stutter/hitching occurred.

Apart from that, quite liking my time back on the Dark side.:D:p:D

That is lack of vram.
Stutter and hitching has always been a sign that you are using settings that exceed your vram

No its not always.
I was playing GTA4 with others on TS and there was one gamer who was getting really bad stutter and hitching with every setting on the lowest, Vram didn't come into it, he had to increase the size of his pagefile.

The latest mortal combat again many getting Stutter and hitching Vram was not an issue.

The latest Batman game Stutter and hitching issues.
So there are many other factors that can lead to Stutter and hitching including slow storage media.

My friend bought a 980Ti G1 because he was afraid of the pump noise....he sent it back today, because it has coil whine :)

You are right.
1-2% of the time it will be something else
98% of the time it will be lack of vram.

For example, I have a 780 and game at 2k
If I put GTA 5 on max settings I get the odd stutter and hitch when new textures/areas need to be loaded.

Since the days of the first Half Life it's been the same. Put settings too high so that it uses more graphics card memory then you have available and you will get the odd stutter and hitch. That is a fact, a plain, black & white fact. If it wasn't the case you than you wouldn't need any VRAM on graphic cards...
