Is there any way to turn the torch thing off client side? If you're moving around placing a lot of torches in the day (more so night) I get a lot of fps lag and stutter :(
 
Why not just have 1 portal at the spawn? Everyone has access to /spawn. This saves messing around with the portals and could save possible hassle in future. Could you imagine the problems that could occur is some1 was to build a portal that spawned on some1 else build in the other world?

I think it'd be good to have maybe 5 portals spaced around the 'old map', maybe at the balloon hubs and spawn before anyone gets the chance to build, then have balloon hubs on the new map in the same locations :)

Noticed a slight increase also. Altho may problem i find with it is its dam annoying if yer scrolling items and get flickers of torches.

lol the torch light thing takes a bit of getting used to. If the other one i mentioned gets updated then all issue can be resolved. As the light only works in the dark and consumes a torch for each night cycle. but does not have to that is a setting thing. but you can turn light on and off by pressing c
 
Sorry I hate it. I tried to like it, even though I hate non-vanilla game play, but it's just too annoying. I walk through caves with a torch out placing them as I go and all I get is stutter and fps lag as every side of every block changes shades as I move.
 
The rivers! The mountains! The sprinting! The chargeable bow! The eating animation! The 'hit' markers when dmging mobs, the PURE SPEED when it goes from day and night, no more chunks loading each different shade of grey!

I can't wait to see people update the wiki and read the stuff I missed. Really really excited for this update.
 
Looking pretty good until he said he's going to split the update :p

Hopefully 1.8 will be out soonish with all the stuff he has pretty much shown, then 1.85 a few weeks later with the missing NPCs, exp uses, added biomes etc.
