I just reinstalled the game and im getting an odd graphical glitch, anyone know why i'm getting it?

Are you opening Minecraft with the Minecraft.exe launcher?! I'm not sure what would cause that error to be honest but the lack of the Minecraft logo is troubling me 
You could try the typical, update Java both 32bit + 64bit (if you are on a 64bit OS), update graphics card drivers and the like.

That's really bad practice from a general Java viewpoint. I'd never recommend it personally. I wonder where that advice originated..weird :s
are you in liquid?
otherwise it looks like Anti-Aliasing is enabled
also if you have optifine installed could be a setting from
that

Date: December 1 @ 19.00 (Entries will be revealed and voting starts December 7th @ 20.00)
How to join: Take the portal from Vanilla spawn and claim an area enclosed with bedrock by writing your name on a sign by the door
Prize: A chest of items, and the winning build will be moved to spawn for everyone to see
Rules: Maximum 2 people per entry. The build should fit the theme. No peeking at others builds! Your build also has to be safe. Admins will not spawn materials. The winner is decided by a community vote.
Winter Race – December 8
Theme: Winter
Date: December 8th @ 19.00
How to join: Take a portal from Vanilla spawn to the race. You will be moved to an enclosure and an admin will kill clear your inventory before letting you through to avoid cheating, so make sure to not bring any valuables!
Prize: The three players to reach the finishing line first will receive a prize each
Rules: No items allowed unless they are given to you during the race. No cheating or abuse of the tracks. Do not remove blocks or items unless specifically instructed by an admin to do so
Monster Bash – December 8
Theme: The Winter Menace has stolen all your presents! Show him who is boss by reaching him at the top of his tower and kick his ass!
Date: December 8th @ 20.00 – 20.30 (depending on when we are done with the race)
How to join: Take a portal from Vanilla spawn to the starting area. Bring anything you think you will need to keep yourself alive!
Prize: Any player participating will receive a prize!
Rules: No exploiting or cheating. You are not allowed to in any way try to take any shortcuts. Blocks will not be needed to advance.

I dont know if you noticed but there were some redpower things in the background of direwolf's misc peripherals mod spotlight. if its anything like last time that means RP2 for 1.4.5 is coming very soon Also, thaumcraft 3 is public

Because of the issues Minecraft.net has been having these past few days, the build competition closing date has been moved to December 14th to allow everyone to finish their entries

Get 1.2.5.jar
Paste Minecraft Forge into the .jar
Download Tekkit and install
Use Tekkit launcher
Then download a whole list of other mods to even access the server??
